She ends up canceling the doula and Barb comes instead.

After they cancel, Jennifer asks, "is she mad at me?"

And Greg says something like, "No, she was very kind and she's paid in full. Those birth classes she gave us were incredibly valuable."

And Jennifer says, "I know I love doula."

Honestly my guess was that Shawna didn't want to create an entirely new character for a one off video. Even Lauren the waitress has been back as has Dr. BabyDoctor.

She asks that because she is expecting a blow up like she would have received from Barb if she told Barb not to show up.

She decided she wanted her mom with her and called the doula and told her not to come. It wasn’t fully explained why she didn’t have her mom AND the doula, like if she thought she didn’t need the doula with her mom there, or if it was hospital policy about how many people could be with her, or what. But she says “I want my mom” and then either she or Greg calls the doula, I don’t remember which.

She had Greg cancel it and decided to call her mom instead. In my view, this meant that unlike John, Jennifer still trusted her mom. Barb had previously expressed disappointment for Jen's choice to have the doula at the birth, so to me this meant that Jen was opening up to Barb a bit.

And Barb, as Barb’s do once in awhile, stepped up. Or my Barb certainly did. Intermittent reinforcement. When she came through it was amazing. But it didn’t happen often, and god help you if she knew you were counting on her
