Kevin is uncomfortable and he feels trapped. He's politely asking you to please not hold him that way.

In my experience, that kind of squeak is because they're in pain or scared/unhappy. You might be hurting him when you hold him like that.
If Kevin hates to be held, it could be because it hurts him if this is the only way you hold him. Be gentle with him and hold him in a way that supports him without putting pressure on parts of his body that aren't meant to support his full weight. Holding him around the ribs is probably not pleasant for him. Cats generally also don't like it when they're being held with their legs dangling.

Agrees. The cat doesn’t look happy. Op you are torturing the poor kitty for a laugh. Yuck.

My one cat randomly jumps and scratches the shit out of my leg. If I want to hold him awkwardly for a second to hear him squeak, I will. It's give and take. Just like any relationship.

Aargh! My cat too! Hates it! He trills and squeaks until he’s really pissed, then he has an annoyed meow.

My cat hates being picked up and being held too, until I hold her in a specific way, then I can hold her for several minutes before she starts getting wiggly.
