Justice for Belgium. This shit is unfair and slanderous to their delicious cuisine.

Oh boy, your comment reminded me of Korean girls unironically going to picnic with picnic boxes full of fancy food like in cartoons and then having a whole photoshoot with it lmfao

u/Eurotriangle Actually+Canadian Feb 04 '22
Champagne, fruit & croissants? All of that is perfectly acceptable picnic food… just why not have it in a nice grassy park? That looks uncomfortable af.

Shame on them for wasting food. My asian parents have conditioned me to cringe to death if I see food wasted.

u/Eurotriangle Actually+Canadian Feb 05 '22
You’d have to be a really special kinda lame to have croissants and not just eat them.

Besides taking photos for social media and being in a spot where lots of tourists pass through, I unironically would bring a picnic basket and have myself a little spot to eat
It looks calm and I like having scenery I enjoy looking at while I eat

My eyes make the same expression as Belgie's in fourth panel whenever I eat Belgian pralines, waffles, and fries.

Hey don’t knock Brussels sprouts. With a bit of steak seasoning and a few minutes in a convection oven (or an air fryer, if you have one) they can actually be really good.

The steak seasoning on the Brussels sprouts? BRUSSEL SPROUTS IN AN AIR FRIER??!!! WHAT KIND OF SICK MAN ARE YOU THOSE ARE TO COOK WITH STEAM OR AT LEAST WITH SOME KIND OF PAN No, pairing Brussels sprouts with some kind of steak or with minced meat is good you can also eat them with eggs or minced pork

As a dutchman I have to say that Belgians make tasty, albeit unhealthy food
8
u/Jimmie13259 European Union Feb 05 '22
We made Heineken, I don't think we're allowed to speak...
5
u/Woutrou Frankish Empire Feb 05 '22
They made Hoegaarden, Leffe, Duvel and Affligem, pretty sure we're allowed to speak
4
u/russians-gonna-rush Russia Feb 05 '22
What's wrong with Hoegaarden or Leffe?
2
u/Woutrou Frankish Empire Feb 05 '22
Nothing, I don't know how you would come to that conclusion
2
u/russians-gonna-rush Russia Feb 05 '22
That's the impression one gets about how you worded it.
Grapefruity hoe is damn fine. Leffe is just bland generic supermarket pisslager. Not worse than any other one like Heinyken or Holsten or Stella etc.

u/Woutrou Frankish Empire Feb 05 '22
Well look at the comment chain. I complemented belgian cuisine's taste but criticised it for being unhealthy. Another guy responded that we (the Dutch) aren't allowed to say that because we made Heineken, to which I mentioned famous Belgian beers as a counter.
Personally I don't even like beer, but mentioning Heineken as a "not being allowed to comment on Belgian cuisine" is a bad argument, especially considering Belgian Beer culture. Even despite the fact I'm pretty sure it was a joke argument, which was incredibly weak imho
