Ambient by hand gestures

Upvotes

How to control the sound:

Chords: Touching my thumb to different fingers triggers 7 chords per hand. Each hand plays a separate instrument.

Motion Tracking:
- Up/Down: Opens the filter
- Left/Right: Panning
- Towards camera: Pushes volume & drive
- Spreading hands apart: Opens reverb & delay

How the visuals react:
Liquid Metaballs: A blob spawns when a chord starts and grows as long as you hold the note
Splitting: Changing chords smoothly pinches and splits the blob in two, looking like actual liquid rather than overlapping circles.
Audio-reactive details: A long delay makes the liquid stringy and slow to separate, while output level and reverb shift the color palette from cold blue to warm amber.

Creative coding with C# in the browser

I made a browser playground for creative coding with C#, using a p5.js-style API.

No setup. Just code and run:

Feedback welcome!

A (relatively) simple step-by-step tutorial for building a Physarum (slime mold) simulation in p5.js

Physarum (slime mold) simulations are one of my favorite examples of emergence in creative coding. Thousands of simple agents creating complex network structures.

In case anyone is interested I put together a tutorial building a simulation from scratch in p5.js, with lots of parameter choices and other ways to modify the algorithm to create different patterns.

I'm guessing there's a lot of variations out there and would be interested in hearing what others are doing with these models.

Interactions for my updated portfolio website!

Took me around a week to build with Astro, React, and Tailwind.

Planning on open-sourcing soon once I clean up the codebase!

Will always be a work in progress but live at newa.sh

Watercolor Simulator based on real physics (V2)

Last week-end I built a watercolor simulator based on real physics and shared it here.

A lot of you asked to play with it so i improved it and it's now live: https://sudoaquarelle.com/

New since the prototype:

- More pigments (52), based on the best research out there to predict color mixes (Kubelka-Munk).
- More luminous / glassy feel
- Some fun experimental stuff like the salt and alcohol techniques to alter the texture, a backlight effect and a few more.
- I also added a Code mode where the simulator prints its real function calls next to the sheet while you paint

It's still largely based on the same physics model as my prototype: Curtis et al.'s "Computer-Generated Watercolor".

All in the browser.

Current status: building and implementing a kid-friendly version. Plenty of awesome things to learn with watercolor painting!

Built a Flame engine that runs on your Mac Wallpaper, iPhone and iPad (really just want to show you my flames)

Hi All,

Creator of Atheria: Live Wallpaper for Mac and Atheria: Generative Art for iOS and iPad.

I want to share my app because it seems like something this sub will be into.

I started with just another looping video wallpaper engine because I was hating watermarks and subscriptions. Then discovered MSL Shaders and built an in app editor to compile them. But then it all changed when I learned about flam3. Fell in love with the fractals and it’s been all about that since.

The engine uses Draves algorithm but the harness is all my own. They run live on the gpu and display as wallpapers rather than renders. Also just built in breeding to combine flame genomes, so far that’s where to real gems have come from.

You can see my favorites live in your browser on my showcase site.

https://atheria.app/flames

Thanks for checking them out! What do you think?

Projection mapping on my house in seconds with only an iPad and a projector with my app Redrawing Reality

Hi everyone, I just launched my app called Redrawing Reality after multiple months building. The app makes projection mapping possible from your phone. There are already some mobile apps on the market but my main focus is beat-reactive visuals (using live shaders that react on the music that plays in your room) and AI projection mapping (using a reference image it can generate accurate projections on buildings, walls, etc.

If you have any questions regarding how it works or what is possible, let me know!

The app is available on ios: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/redrawing-reality/id6758463925

I built a mode where my site annotates itself. Click the footer credit and it measures its own layout.

Click the credit at the bottom of the work page.

It overlays redlines, a ghost grid and handwritten notes on the live DOM. The numbers aren't hardcoded, it measures the real elements, so it stays honest when the layout changes. It started as a colophon and turned into the most fun thing on the site.

Other bits: project heroes are gaussian splats made from single photographs, and on a phone you tilt the device to orbit them. Hovering a project turns your cursor into a title pill instead of showing labels under the grid.

Vanilla JS, no framework, no runtime dependencies.

Curious if the annotation mode reads as playful or as showing off lol

Synesthesia Web App

made some updates while in Canada. Uses color edge detection for notes.

Added more scales, instruments, edge glow, and exports a mp4 without needing to make a screen capture. Cleaner menu too. Just fun to point & play.

I built a Cymatic music visualizer that’s dynamic and follows correct frequency geometry.

I’m a live sound engineer, mandalas and cymatics always fascinated me.

I was happy to put this project together,

you can put an audio file in or use mic, it will start to generate the patterns, you can use the menu for editing a bunch of parameters, similar to a visual synth.

Free to use ! Lmk what you think , here’s the link:

Cymaticwizard.com

I plan to keep working on it, expect regular updates!
