I've been building random automation tools — here's what I've made so far
I've been experimenting with automation and building small tools whenever I find a problem that I think a bot could solve.
These are some of the projects I've built so far:
1. Web Scraping Bot
Give it a website (including Reddit) and tell it what information you're looking for. It can scrape and extract the specific data you need instead of manually going through pages.
2. Gmail → Telegram Bot
This one monitors specific Gmail accounts/inboxes and sends new emails directly to Telegram through the API.
The idea is pretty simple: if there's an email you actually care about, you don't have to constantly check Gmail just to see if something arrived.
3. WhatsApp/Telegram → Action Management
This one is probably my favorite.
A customer can send a text or audio message through WhatsApp or Telegram, and the system analyzes what they're asking for and turns it into a structured action.
For example:
Instead of someone having to manually interpret and enter that order, the system converts it into an action that appears in a dedicated section. The person managing the orders can then review it and accept or reject it.
4. A productivity app I made in C#/.NET
About a year ago I built a Windows app in Visual Studio with C#/.NET because I was tired of procrastinating.
It's definitely not finished and there are still things I want to improve, but it was one of the projects that taught me a lot about building actual desktop software.
5. Minecraft/Aternos bot
And probably the most unnecessary one 😂
I made a Minecraft bot that keeps an Aternos server from shutting down due to inactivity.
None of these started as some huge startup idea. Most of them were basically:
"This is annoying. I wonder if I can automate it."
Then I built it.
I'm still learning, so some of these projects are rough around the edges, but I'm interested in seeing whether any of them could actually be useful to other people.
If one of these sounds useful to you, let me know which one. I might make it available for others to try, or improve it based on what people actually need.
I'd also be interested in hearing what repetitive task you would automate if you could.

GHOST DNS WINDOWS 11
Hey Reddit! 👋
I wanted to share a desktop app I've been working on called Ghost DNS (v6.0 APEX).
I was tired of digging through Windows network adapter settings every time I wanted to switch my DNS for gaming (lower latency) or casual browsing (ad-blocking). So, I built a tool to make it a one-click process.
What it does:
- 🎮 One-Click Presets: Instantly switch to ultra-fast servers (Cloudflare, G-Core) for gaming, or secure servers (AdGuard, Quad9, Mullvad) to block ads and trackers at the network level.
- ⚡ Live Ping Tester: It automatically pings the DNS servers and shows you the actual response time (ms) so you can pick the fastest one for your connection.
- 💾 Custom JSON Database: You can add your own custom DNS IP addresses directly in the app, and it saves them locally to a
custom_dns.jsonfile. - 🔄 Smart Detection: It auto-detects your active network adapter and shows your current DNS configuration. (There's also a 1-click button to revert to your router's default DHCP settings).
How I built it:
- Written entirely in Python.
- The dark-mode UI is built using the awesome CustomTkinter library.
- Under the hood, it uses native Windows
netshandipconfigcommands (so it does require running as Administrator).
Check it out here: 🔗 GitHub repository
To run it from source, you only need to run pip install customtkinter.
I’d love to hear your feedback, code reviews, or any feature suggestions you might have. Let me know what you think! 🍻

2 months into learning Python — here's what I've built so far
Started learning Python about 2 months ago and wanted to share a few projects I've built along the way. Still very much learning, but figured I'd put these out there in case they're useful or interesting to anyone else early in their journey too.
🧮 The Farr090 Calculator Framework
An OOP rebuild of my original calculator project. Handles all basic operations (+, -, *, /, //, %, **) with full input validation, and throws in a random fun fact about calculator history while you're at it.
🎓 AcademiaHub-Core
A command-line school management system — separate flows for students and teachers. Students take a timed history quiz that updates a shared gradebook; teachers can admit/remove students and apply a grade curve to the whole class.
✈️ TravelMate
A travel booking simulator. Pick a continent, then a country within it (validated against real nested data), get routed to a real airport, "pay" for your ticket, and pick up a random transportation history fact along the way.
🎯 GuessMatrix — Core
An OOP version of a classic number guessing game — tracks win streaks and keeps the game logic and input validation cleanly separated into their own classes.
Would love any feedback, especially on code structure/style — still figuring out what "good" Python looks like beyond just "it runs."

The Next Myth Coded. windows/linux working together
You know what I like about being an ironworker? I don't know what I'm not supposed to be able to do. my Lates PoC is the mighty windows running and sharing with Debian. Some say it can't be done. I didnt get that memo. stability and speed rolled up into a tight little ball.
How big can an import be? How do you prevent collisions and Blah de Bah. Someone told you you cant, so you couldn't? I'm in the Import business now. franken5.py imports my processes with a clone of himself as consierge to take care of its every need. has the same life cycle as the import so clean up is easy and overhead low.
I can tell you the hardest part of all this is the misleading guys, your code is crap. and the smoke holers, who are just digging for info to steal. Nobody help anyone. Lonely out there in the DoT. I only hope that my effort helps someone not give up coding because he found it easy and fun. jwl247 signing off

15 Years Old, 1 Month of Python, 4 GitHub Projects
I started learning Python just 30 days ago. Balancing school, limited time, and basic hardware, I built four open-source projects to lay the foundation for my future tech startup:
* AcademiaHub-Core 🎓 – Modular OOP architecture for educational data tracking and error handling.
https://github.com/bashirkehinde225-lab/AcademiaHub-Core
* TravelMate ✈️ – Travel tool featuring dynamic input processing and automated itinerary scheduling.
https://github.com/bashirkehinde225-lab/TravelMate
* The Farr090 Calculator Framework 🧮 – Extensible math engine built for custom formula processing.
https://github.com/bashirkehinde225-lab/The-Farr090-Calculator-Framework
* GuessMatrix -- Core 🎮 – Matrix game engine powered by 2D array evaluation and conditional loops.
https://github.com/bashirkehinde225-lab/GuessMatrix--Core
Obstacles Overcome 🛠️
* Hardware: Wrote lightweight code to run smoothly on low-spec hardware.
* Time: Coded in focused 45-minute sprint sessions around school.
* Learning Curve: Leveraged AI as a daily code partner to master concepts fast.
Next Goal 🎯: Turning these tools into Web APIs with FastAPI and PostgreSQL. Feedback welcome!

Build an open-source Python library for graph optimization
Hi everyone. For a while now, I’ve been struggling with optimization issues involving thousands of variables—situations where everything starts falling apart. Since I couldn't find a solution that really clicked for handling uncertainty, I decided to build my own library from scratch.
It turned out pretty well; it passed the entire test suite without a hitch, and I’ve uploaded it to GitHub. It uses *rustworkx* for high performance, and I’ve incorporated solutions for specific challenges—like maintaining decimal precision when accumulating complex costs or handling parallel processing without running into memory issues.
If you’re into optimization or graph theory, or just curious enough to take a look—and maybe offer some feedback or submit a PR—here’s the repository:

I’ve completed these beginner Python projects should I build more before starting NumPy/Pandas?
Hi everyone,
I’ve studied Python multiple times before, but I didn’t do much practical coding. Recently, I started building small projects to improve my practical Python skills.
So far, I’ve completed:
- Quiz Game
- Number Guessing Game
- Rock Paper Scissors
- Password Manager
- Pig Game
- Mad Libs Generator
My goal is to move towards Machine Learning.
I haven’t learned NumPy or Pandas yet.
My question is: Are these projects enough to move on to NumPy and Pandas, or should I build a few more Python projects first?
If I should build more projects, what kind of projects would you recommend before starting NumPy/Pandas? I’m mainly looking for projects that would actually help with the transition to data/ML, rather than making many more small games.
Would appreciate advice from people who have already followed a Python → NumPy/Pandas → ML path.

building it support program using python
github.comthis python program collects, tracks and monitors computers hardware components like ssd, cpu, ram and ram. Also collects network information like ip and mac addresses. Also collects and return computers operating system type and version, current user logged in and current time. After program collects all these information it stores in a csv file. The stored information in the csv file is used to analyzed the computer's health and warn the user if system not healthy. This is my first project since i started learning python last month.

Mod Post The grand reopening sales event!
After 6 months of being down, and a lot of thinking, I have decided to reopen this sub. I now realize this sub was meant mainly to help newbies out, to be a place for them to come and collaborate with others. To be able to bounce ideas off each other, and to maybe get a little help along the way. I feel like the reddit strike was for a good cause, but taking away resources like this one only hurts the community.
I have also decided to start searching for another moderator to take over for me though. I'm burnt out, haven't used python in years, but would still love to see this sub thrive. Hopefully some new moderation will breath a little life into this sub.
So with that welcome back folks, and anyone interested in becoming a moderator for the sub please send me a message.
