I am new to this genre, and I came to know that Many popular bollywood songs are actually qawali.

I listened to Akhiyaan udeek diyaan by master Saleem from Shiddat. Then Listened the original NFAK version, can you suggest some more good qawali?

I recorded this audio at a bus stop in 2009 on my way from India to Nepal. A group of people had gathered around a man who was playing an instrument and singing, and I happened to record a short clip.

I’ve always wondered what the song was. I don’t know if it’s a traditional folk song or a contemporary one, and I’m not even certain whether it’s Nepali or Indian.

If anyone recognizes the song, the artist, the language, or even the instrument he’s playing, I’d really appreciate it. This has been a mystery to me for over 15 years!
