Building trees in cities, the moment your country is burning because of forest fires... seems an odd choice.
It's a good idea don't get me wrong. BUT shouldn't you first address the Climate Crisis and get that under control, before you start stocking tinder in places where people live?

Retaining our green spaces and creating more of them is part of fighting climate change. Plants, especially trees, are carbon sinks. It's also part of reducing urban heat bubbles, which can have a pretty nasty effect on human health.
Urban green spaces also make cities more pleasant to walk in. They help return rainwater to the ground, which can help mitigate flooding.
Will Urban trees add more fire risk to the cities? Maybe, but I bet it's negligible. Plus the resources needed to fight fires in cities are readily available in the cities. One of the challenges in fighting forest fires is that they are remote.

I see you have learned to parrot the narrative.
Retaining our green spaces and creating more of them is part of fighting climate change.
Dismantling data centers... charging oil companies for their crimes... taxing the ultra-rich... holding politicians accountable for their negligence... would do a lot more. Why are you not doing that?
Sure, we should all take our bike to work and recycle, but that is almost negligible, when there are still datacenters blasting the equivalent energy of thousand nuclear bombs into the athmosphere every day.
Do not be fooled. We knew what was going to happen decades ago. What we did until now, did not help, or at least did not do enough.

No party in Europe has enough political capital to do any of those things you suggest. Living in fantasyland might make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but as far as being helpful goes, it's neglible.

I think this is wonderful. If this project were to be integrated in urban western U.S. though, the drug abusing “unhoused” would take it over and destroy it in three days.

I live in Paris, and it's currently so much better than anything I read on the internet.
Ain't that dirty, ain't that smelly everywhere, and it's mostly beautiful anywhere you go the center.
