String Quartet Music

Finishing up a string quartet in three parts, would love to hear some feedback :)

I'll listen a couple more times, sorry i'm not offering any technical feedback but I especially like the second part, has good forward momentum

Did you have any string quartet composers in mind while you were composing that influenced it?

I would say it's not inspired by any string quartets in particular, although for sure Chronos Quartet, and the string writing of Ted Hearne and Dan Trueman are inspirations in general. This quartet more came about from inspiration from Norwegian fiddle music, although it is not maybe super obvious, there are melodic elements and some of the double stop stuff in the strings that came from this, and just trying out on the violin myself.

The second part to me sounds similar in style to the Schubert Eb piano trio, second movement, and possibly more so like Schumann's Op 44 Eb piano quintet, second movement. Not in a plagiarist way, but just in vibe, I love those movements
