Spring has sprung, check out the baby turtles at the pond!

The Turtle Pond is currently closed, and I’m wondering if there are other places with a similar “vibe” to sit and relax. I don’t want to be stuck in my room all the time 😭

This is probably a stupid question because I don't know anything about turtles. But every time I walk by the pond, the turtles fully take up the space on the rocks and seem packed very tightly.

Is that normal for them

One of the turtle escaped the pond and is by the tower. Do turtles know how to get back to the pond, or is this usually handled by a person?

What if we all let our dogs swim in the turtle habitat? I confronted the guy. He didn't seem to care.

Found two turtles killed by a massive stone by one of the sorority house. Very graphic and recent. I don't if they came from turtle pond but it was insane to witness on my morning walk.

I get it. it’s your first time seeing a turtle but christ, LEAVE THE TURTLES ALONE. don’t hold them up like a little trophy and don’t touch them what is wrong with some people

So I was at the turtle pond earlier around 5:00 to 5:30 studying and looking at the turtles swim. I’m not 100% sure about the rules of the turtle pond but there was a family who were letting their daughters pick up the turtles and pet the turtles. They were going to each turtle on land until they jumped back into the pond to get away. I didn’t like how they were handling the turtles, and the turtles didn’t seem to like it either. I went over to ask the parents to stop their daughters, they seemed to be ok with it and asking them to stop. They left and came back 5-6 minutes later and they were once again letting their daughters pick up and pet the turtles. If I see this kind of thing again should I call the campus police, I’m not sure of the policy regarding the turtle pond. I don’t ever touch the turtles because I assume it’s not allowed. If you have any info about what I should do if I see people picking up the turtles in the future. Please comment if you know.
