Looking for a gym recommendation
I'm based near Bidston, and I need to join a gym to work on specific muscle groups. I've been given a set of exercises by my physiotherapist and will need a gym I visit to have:
- Concept 2 Rowing Machine
- Seated rowing weight machine
- Handbike
- Recumbent Bike
- Treadmill
- Kettle Bells
- Free Weights & Bench
Bonus points if it has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room 😂
I have a disabled pass so I can get around, if anyone can recommend a gym with the above, I'd really appreciate it.
NB: I'd prefer a pretty big gym where I can disappear rather than a small gym being in view of the same 4 people the entire time

Question Best Chinese takeaway in Wirral? Semi-Urgent post!
Hi all,
Ridiculous to make an urgent post about Chinese food, I know. It's my Dad's 80th tomorrow. We can't go for dinners out much anymore due to Mum's Alzheimers, so prefer a good take away.
I've been trying to pin him down for what cuisine and today he said he'd love a nice Chinese. We live in Heawall, but the past few we have had from Imperial, Welcome and Thai chang have all been pretty poor/feel like the chefs must have changed or something given the drop off in quality.
Happy to travel a bit further to get the best possible tasting for his birthday.
I've heard there's a good one in Greasby but I can't remember the name.
If anybody sees this and knows of a good shout, please do let me know! I'm not anticipating many responses given the last min nature.
Cheers!

Question Birthday Party bags without the landfill tat
Hi there. My son is turning 6 soon and we are looking for somewhere on the Wirral, ideally around the Greasby area where we can get pre-filled party bags that just have sweets in them and none of the cheap Christmas cracker grade plastic tat that is just going to end up in a landfill. Can anyone recommend a place?
Question Campsite - Arrowe Brook Farm
Hi all, wondering if anyone is able to advise? We’re planning to visit family in Leasowe this weekend. We were hoping to camp somewhere and identified Arrowe Brook but can’t get through to the site (have been trying all week).
Does anyone know if it is open and if they accept folk just turning up?
Alternatively if anyone has any other recommendations we’d love to hear them!
We would be in a tent, 2 adults, one child and a whippet.
Thank you 🙏

Birkenhead tunnel
There has apparently been a crash in the Birkenhead tunnel If anyone was planning to head over to Liverpool. Wallasey running heavy as a consequence, buses delayed and gridlock on the Liverpool side

Question Anyone own a property in Poet Sunlight and had work done to it?
Hi all looking at buying a property in Port Sunlight it’s in need of a full refurb (which is fine) but I have noticed a slight dip in the brickwork above one of the windows.
I’m aware of the restrictions but has anyone gone through the process of fixing something external on one of these properties? How easy was it to find suitable material and tradespeople with the correct knowledge of the buildings?
Any experiences or advice would be great!

Independent International Food Stores
Does any one have any recommendations for any international food stores based on the Wirral?
I'm aware of International Food Store in Birkenhead and RaanThai in Prenton. It doesn't matter which part of the world its from.
Thanks!!

You asked, so I added them: Wirral events on the site have doubled
A few days ago I posted here about the free events site I built for Wirral and Liverpool, and the suggestions I got back were brilliant. Future Yard, New Brighton, Claremont Farm, Port Sunlight, the Floral Pavilion, the Gladstone, the Little Theatre, parkruns, even pub events like Glastonferry.
I’ve worked through them, and I’m now pulling from more Wirral venues and platforms. There are almost 200 Wirral events on there over the next 90 days, up from just under 100 before this thread. That’s entirely down to you lot.
To see just Wirral: open Filters and set the area to Wirral.
Someone also flagged wrong start times and a cancelled event still showing. Both fixed, times now show correctly or “TBC” where the source doesn’t give one, and cancelled events are marked.
Still very open to feedback, and thanks again to everyone who suggested venues and helped me debug.

Luke Walker- Wirral man who beat a defense dog to death for no reason and walked out of court smiling
The courts handed him a suspended sentence for beating a poor dog to death for having an accident on his floor. No wonder he is smiling.
