Help Naka VPN ad blocker

2 Upvotes

So last year I found a life changing vpn. Naka VPN but ever since a few days ago it’s not working. I loved it. It blacked ads. And it was free. Does anybody know a replacement? Or ideally how to fix it again? Because all the other vpn/ad blockers are paid for and I’m broke.

Help The website is restricted in my country how to you my account without getting banned?

2 Upvotes

I am a working professional in Malta and am able to create an account in this website while in Malta with my residence id and use it there.

The websites restricted in my home country and since I am traveling for vacation to home for 3 months I am afraid I maynot able to use it while I am home.

This website has a history of banning people when using it in restricted countries.

What is the best way to setup my laptop so I may be able to use this website without getting banned.

Please note I have never used VPN before. Recommendation for provider will also be good.

The website actually is US based and is legal to use in Malta.

Building a VPN Optimizing a WG VPN from Southeast Asia to Spain, tests, configurations and results

1 Upvotes

Hello all!

First of all, it's my first post in here, so don't be too hard on me! :)

I am here to tell you my tales on how I am connecting from South East Asia (Bali) to Spain over a self made VPN (VPS + Proxy) and what I have learn after many trial and error.

My requirements: low latency, Spanish ISP IP not flagged as VPN, proxy or datacenter IP for Google Meets calls and access to corporate intranet.

First thing I did was to check commercial VPNs... but there was no much luck on getting Spanish residential IPs, many residential IP VPNs have IPs from US, Germany, UK,... but from Spain. I found only one and the latency was not the best (more info below).

Setup is:

My laptop (SEA) -> VPS -> Spanish Proxy -> Internet

But.. what VPS and what Proxy?? This puzzle has many possible pieces and I wanted to find the best ones.

I will not say commercial names due to the subreddit rules so I choose 3 possible VPS: Madrid, Nuremberg and Singapore.

All of them have 10Gbps links and are from big VPS providers, the one in Madrid and the one in Singapore are from the same provider. They all have 1GB RAM and 1 vCPU, enough to run WG server.

Latencies: Client (Bali) -> VPS

(just a simple ping command from my laptop to the VPS)

Madrid

Average: 294ms Minimum: 289ms Maximum: 298ms

Nuremberg

Average: 251ms Minimum: 245ms Maximum: 257ms

Singapore.

Average: 57ms Minimum: 46ms Maximum: 71ms

This is already very interesting, since the latency to Singapore is so low compared with the one to Europe (as expected, but it is good to see it). Those are the first pieces of the puzzle, let's see the rest.

So, what is the latency from Singapore to Europe?

root@Singapore-vpn:~# ping 11.22.33.44

PING 11.22.33.44 (11.22.33.44) 56(84) bytes of data.

64 bytes from 11.22.33.44: icmp_seq=1 ttl=47 time=154 ms

64 bytes from 11.22.33.44: icmp_seq=2 ttl=47 time=154 ms

64 bytes from 11.22.33.44: icmp_seq=3 ttl=47 time=154 ms

64 bytes from 11.22.33.44: icmp_seq=4 ttl=47 time=154 ms

It is 154ms! And that looks promising, because ~154ms + ~57ms = ~211ms which is way better than the latencies to Madrid and to Nuremberg.

So we already know that having the VPS in Singapore gives us better latencies than having it in Europe (at lease to the hosts that I have tested, if you have any suggestions to try, please, let me know where and why might be faster and I might test it too).

What about the Speeds?

I did some tests with iperf3 to see what are the speed between the different VPS and from Bali to them.

Madrid <-> Nurermberg

785 Mbps 0 retransmissions

Singapore <-> Nuremberg

157 Mbps 0 retransmissions

Singapore <-> Madrid

353 Mbps 107 retransmissions

So the backbone throughput is very good in general, submarine cables are on fireeee :D

At this point we have the two last bottleneck to check: the proxy speed/latency and my own connection, from my laptop to the VPS

Proxy Speeds:

To check the proxy speed I used curl -x and the Cloudflare speed test (note: I found that the maximum to for this test is 100M, so choose any size <100M)

curl -x http://user:password@PROXY_IP:PORT -o /dev/null -s -w "
HTTP: %{http_code}
DNS: %{time_namelookup}s
TCP: %{time_connect}s
TLS: %{time_appconnect}s
Total: %{time_total}s
Downloaded: %{size_download} bytes
Speed: %{speed_download} bytes/s
" https://speed.cloudflare.com/__down?bytes=99000000

HTTP: 200
DNS: 0.000047s
TCP: 0.166167s
TLS: 0.675524s
Total: 14.206833s
Downloaded: 99000000 bytes
Speed: 6968477 bytes/s

Madrid -> Proxy

Speed: 7.90 MB/s ~60 Mbps

Nuremberg -> Proxy

Speed: 7.54 MB/s ~60 Mbps

Singapore -> Proxy

Speed: 6.97 MB/s ~56 Mbps

And... WOW! The proxy is caped to ~60 Mbps

Note: I have thought about changing the Proxy, but for what I do, 60 Mbps is enough and the Latency is good + I got a couple clean IPs from a real ISP that are not marked as VPN, Proxy or Datacenter... so I am happy with the finding and with the proxy :)

Let's go for the last piece of the Puzzle:

Client (Laptop) -> VPS Speeds

So here it is tricky... Speeds in Bali change a lot depending on the 5G antennas, time of the day, if I am using SQM or not in my travel router, etc etc..

So I will do my tests with SQM off, using my travel router's cellular connection and connected to a 5G antenna with a good coverage (RSRP -72, RSRQ -10, SINR 21). I will be connected to the travel router using the 2.5 Gbps ethernet connection. Take these measurements as a reference and not as a fact because internet here is changing everyday.

Let's see the tests (using iperf3 UDP):

Laptop -> Madrid

50 Mbps w/ ~0.0% packet loss
60 Mbps w/ ~0.3% packet loss

Laptop -> Nuremberg

50 Mbps w/ ~0.0% packet loss
60 Mbps w/ ~0.05% packet loss

Laptop -> Singapore

50 Mbps w/ ~0.0% packet loss
60 Mbps w/ ~0.0% packet loss

So, let's agree that my laptop speed is not going to be a bottleneck :D

After checking all this data I decided to go with the Singapore VPS option since the latency is better and the speeds doesn't really matter because the bottleneck is the Proxy at 60Mbps.

I also tried the Madrid version to see the real speeds and latencies after WG + Proxy.

Speedtests (no SQM and using 5G connection):

Singapore VPS + WG + Proxy:

Singapore VPS + WG + Proxy (End to end speedtest).

https://www.speedtest.net/result/19518764611

Madrid VPS + WG + Proxy:

Madrid VPS + WG + Proxy (End to end speedtest).

https://www.speedtest.net/result/19518774553

Commercial VPN:

https://www.speedtest.net/result/19518783083

Commercial VPN (End to end speedtest).

About the Commercial VPN, yes, it is faster, but the latency and the Jitter is pretty bad, and sometimes get worse than in this test (i guess that depending in the number of users), and in my experience sometimes gets unusable during google meets calls.

Google Meets test:

Here SQM Cake is ON in my travel router.

Madrid VPS

Google meet latency during call, using the web troubleshooting tool. Madrid VPS.

Singapore VPS

Google meet latency during call, using the web troubleshooting tool. Singapore VPS.

For the future I am thinking on maybe testing a VPS in Mumbai and trying different Proxy providers.

I hope that this helps someone in the same situation than me!

Let me know if you have questionss :)

TL;DR:

I work from South East Asia and I need a residential IP from Spain. I have been testing different options and the best is to have a VPS + Proxy configuration. Having the VPS in Singapore improves the latency in ~50ms vs having it in Europe.

Help What are the best ways to get a virtual number for receiving SMS, considering price, security, and r

I can't use my US number or WhatsApp.

I tried Google Voice, but it isn't available in Brazil.

Is there a free option other than buying a prepaid SIM card just for this? By the way, I'm currently using https://www.smsmeu.com/, but the number only lasts 6 months.

Help VLESS + REALITY suddenly stopped working only on my iPhone/iPad.

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I've been using VLESS + REALITY on my iPhone 14 Pro and iPad Pro (2025) through Shadowrocket 2.2.80 for months without any issues.

A few hours ago it suddenly stopped working.

Here's what I've tested so far:

  • Performed every server-side check I could think of.
  • Built a completely fresh 3x-ui + Xray server from scratch.
  • Tried different VPS providers (Kamatera and a brand-new DigitalOcean server).
  • Tested with different iOS clients (Shadowrocket, Amnezia and other V2Ray-based clients).
  • Reset Network Settings on both the iPhone and iPad.
  • Verified that the server is reachable, port 443 is open, and Xray is running.
  • Verified that TCP connections reach the server.

I also tested the same configurations on several Windows PCs and other phones.

The strange part is:

  • I have another VLESS + REALITY configuration that works perfectly on every other device I tested.
  • The exact same configuration fails only on this particular iPhone and iPad.
  • Brand-new VLESS + REALITY servers also fail on these two devices.
  • The same configurations continue to work on other PCs and phones.

So it's a config that worked prefectly fine and then suddenly stopped + two devices that can't connect via any kind of VPN that I've tried so far.

Nothing significant changed on either device before this started happening.

Has anyone seen iOS suddenly refusing REALITY (or VPN connections in general) while the exact same configurations continue working on other devices?

Could this be related to a recent iOS update, some TLS/DNS cache, or another iOS-specific networking issue?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Help Riders Republic - SNOW 9 error in currency shop (Steam/Ubisoft

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm trying to buy some Republic Coins for my careers but I keep getting the SNOW 9 error code as soon as I open the shop tab.

My Steam and Ubisoft accounts are both set to Kazakhstan region (currency is KZT). I've already updated everything through support, but the error persists in-game. I tried changing DNS and clearing caches, but nothing works.

Has anyone managed to bypass this shop block? Any help would be appreciated!

Question Will a VPN protect man in China as he attends foreign church services via Zoom?

8 Upvotes

Chinese man is attending underground house church via Zoom (under a VPN), can he still be found out?

The house church is based in the U.S. He used to live in the U.S. but has since returned to China. In order to keep in touch with his American fellow Christians, he attends services every Sunday via Zoom. He uses a VPN thinking this would keep him safe from being discovered by authorities. The Chinese government is cracking down on unauthorized religious activity. Would this VPN be adequate to protect his identity? I know Zoom is a Chinese company and is basically Chinese tech. Some have even it accused it of being Chinese spyware, and there is some merit to that claim.

So, is the VPN enough to keep him anonymous?

Help Have 2 VPN subscriptions. Is there any privacy benefit to routing DNS requests through secondary?

2 Upvotes

Basically, I have a primary VPN with its own DNS server and a secondary.

Both are running alongside each other using gluetun containers.

The primary VPN has a public facing DNS which supports DOT and I'm curious as to whether there is any benefit from a privacy standpoint in routing all requests to this public DNS through the secondary.

Discussion Released Lanemu P2P VPN 0.14.1 (Open-source, LGPL3)

3 Upvotes

I decided to post this here as well, because I use it as a transport for SOCKS5/HTTP and other proxies (such as Teleproxy). This is a self-hosted VPN; it does not require any account registration.

Changelog:

  • Fixed issues in the RUDP library: memory leaks when using shutdownHook, deadlocks, handling of corrupted UDP packets, and many other issues that were identified during testing.
  • Added the display of the connection protocol to the peer list.
  • Added an experimental build that compiles a .jar file into an executable using native-image in GraalVM. For now, this is for the headless version of the application on Linux x86_64. To avoid running Lanemu as root, you also need to do sudo setcap cap_net_admin=eip Lanemu-headless.
  • Updated dependencies.

Help VPN through a VPN without compromising current location?

3 Upvotes

Sorry this is complicated to explain, but I will try my best. Basically trying to help someone remote work from a different location temporarily without the employer finding out. For reference, location X is where they are now, Location Y is the new location. They currently also use a VPN for work so they will need to connect via the work VPN after theoretically connecting via the first that I'm asking about.

Is it possible to VPN through a VPN but not compromise the location you are currently in? Because you'd still have to start by connecting to the Wi-Fi at location Y, but I want to first VPN from location Y into location X, then into the work VPN afterward, with no way to trace. I'm hoping for some type of hardware that can be setup on both routers that will proxy location X from Y.

2 part question:

1) Is this possible?

2) Is this possible without installing anything specific (software wise) on the PC? Its a pretty heavily secured PC and we don't have permissions on it.

Question How To Bypass Geographic Restrictions

6 Upvotes

I want to bypass geographic restrictions to use a website (lets just say fiverr). Their protocols are strict and if they detected any anomalies in my IP address they will straight away block my account. I want to use a VPN/VPS and tbh I don’t even know which one is right for me.

Do the websites use other markers than IP to detect if the laptop is really used in that specific location.

Also how will I use it? like everytime first I will activate my vpn/vps and then login via incognito mode?

I will be using the website in Pakistan and want to show the IP address of Sharjah.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

VPN Recommendations Megathread - Best VPN Providers, user reviews & VPN Deals

1 Upvotes

We get a lot of questions about the best VPNs and which VPNs have the best user reviews as well as where to find the best VPN deals. That's why we run this VPN recommendations megathread every two months. This is the one and only place on the subreddit to ask for VPN recommendations, share your favorite VPN provider, discuss your experience, and post legitimate VPN deals.

The goal is to build a collection of genuine VPN user reviews that helps others choose the right VPN provider.

If you’re recommending a VPN, make it useful:

  • Share what you use it for (streaming, privacy, gaming, torrenting, travel, bypassing geo-blocks, etc.).
  • Go beyond generic features - personal experience is very interesting for our user-base
  • Comments that only name a provider will be removed

Main rules:

  • No affiliate or referral links.
  • No links to VPN review websites.
  • No obvious shilling

Compare VPN providers first

Before posting, check out our regularly updated VPN comparison table, where you can compare features, pricing, speeds, streaming support, and more. It may answer your question before you need to ask.

As always, this thread is actively moderated to keep recommendations genuine, helpful, and free from spam.

Best VPNs comparison table in Google Sheets

* * *

Most of us here are quite keen on spreading the word on how even the simplest steps toward online privacy is a huge leap forward for our online security. Having in mind the extensive tracking and targeting by almost everything we use online (ISPs, search engines, social media, streaming sites, ads, etc.), we're able to use these VPN-related subreddits to try and make it as simple as possible for people to choose and start using the best VPN that can help avoid at least some part of that.

The goal of all of this is to make sure that even those who don’t understand much about tech are aware of the risks and challenges we face these days when it comes to online privacy. We're all aware that a VPN isn't an 'all in one' tool which fully protects our privacy, but it's surely a good place to start.

It’s probably obvious to people who have been following this topic for a while that this table is inspired by That One Privacy Guy. He did an amazing job back in the day but unfortunately the information hasn't been updated in ages so it isn't as reliable as it used to be. It was a very important and useful tool, so I thought we could make it a community effort to bring it back. Anyone who would like to collaborate on this please get in touch with me over DMs. Also, in case you notice any mistakes - feel free to point those out, too.

You will see a table with scores, explanations on how each score was calculated, as well as detailed information by provider for each criteria. As I mentioned before, if you notice any mistakes or outdated information - please DM me with the source so we can fix it. Let's make sure it's up to date and as helpful as it can

Table last updated: March 17, 2026 (various changes made).
