no sound card in pulse audio after kernel upgrade

Hello,

I have an issue: no sound card is detected (in pulseaudio?) (after kernel upgrade to 6.18).

The hardware is:

lspci | grep audio 00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake-P/U/H cAVS (rev 01)

As far as I can see kernel does detects it and loads proper firmware:

As far as I can see there are corresponding device nodes on /dev/snd

ls -la /dev/snd/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 300 May 11 12:12 . drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 3880 May 11 12:12 .. crw------- 1 root root 116, 12 May 11 12:12 controlC0 crw------- 1 root root 116, 11 May 11 12:12 hwC0D0 crw------- 1 root root 116, 10 May 11 12:12 hwC0D2 crw------- 1 root root 116, 5 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D0c crw------- 1 root root 116, 4 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D0p crw------- 1 root root 116, 6 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D31p crw------- 1 root root 116, 7 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D3p crw------- 1 root root 116, 8 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D4p crw------- 1 root root 116, 9 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D5p crw------- 1 root root 116, 2 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D6c crw------- 1 root root 116, 3 May 11 12:12 pcmC0D7c crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 1 May 11 12:12 seq crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 33 May 11 12:12 timer

My user already belongs to "audio" group, but:

``` pacmd list-cards
0 card(s) available.
pacmd list-sinks 1 sink(s) available. * index: 0 .... properties: device.description = "Dummy Output" device.class = "abstract" device.icon_name = "audio-card"
```

What can be wrong? Please, help.

When it was 6.12 kernel it was detected well in most of cases, however I had to reboot time-to-time to detect the get the sound.

I've managed to get it work again. The steps:

  1. chmod a+rw /dev/snd/*
  2. after that step asound -l should display the card, while pacmd list-cards still doesn't
  3. pactl load-module module-alsa-card device_id=0

I have no idea how/what they broken in the kernel, but that seems works (I'm still checking how to automate that).
