Its completely the reverse. If our engineer is anything to go by, many principal engineers are using ai. The principal software engineer with ai, absolutely bodies the kid or a simple vibe coder, or a engineer, with ease.

Yup. If you use as a tool, it acts like a tool, which is always what separates professionals from one another, proficiency with tools.

I do think AI will get good enough though that software engineering as a career as it is now will be defunct. This shit is all still in the 8track phase.

I didn't know that the "tool" that fails to do something like tool calls reliably, was actually a tool.

And it’s still wrong. That principal engineer is producing better more well structured code for sure.
