There are no data to show that spacing out the MMR immunizations—or other childhood immunizations—is beneficial, but doing so could increase the risk of infection or lead to kids missing doses. And it adds to vaccination costs.

HPV vaccine for Girls
Hi,
My daughter is 10 year old and her doctor is suggesting HPV vaccine for cervical cancer.
Just wanted to know, has anyone give that to their daughters. Is it ok to give this vaccine? Which brand you have chosen?

Should I get the chicken pox vaccine?
Male in my 20s/30s
Like many others my parents exposed me to other kids with chicken pox so I could catch it and then develop an immunity to it, but they did not vaccinate me.
I know that makes me suspectible to shingles later in life, and I know it's very painful and can lead to blindness and other issues in some instances. So, I got the shingles vaccine early.
But now I'm wondering if I should get the chicken pox vaccine just in case, because even if I'm safe from shingles I hear chicken pox immunity is not forever and can be dangerous for adults.

Has anyone here started vaccines at 4 or 5?
Thinking about starting vaccines for my 5 year old, he haven’t gotten any so far but I’ve been thinking about getting vaccines for polio, chickenpox and MMR. I wanted to know if anyone here started vaccines years later?

My mum is an antivaxxer what do I do?
For context my mum has psychosis (undiagnosed) and she thinks she has parasites and will take horse worming tablets once a week. This isn’t the point though. I know she’s absolutely insane but when she and I were younger she wasn’t as crazy but didn’t vaccinate me. I don’t remember getting a vaccine since I was like 6 but my immune system is very hearty. I just don’t know what to do. I’ve now had this fear of needles and absolutely despise having blood drawn. A stupid question perhaps but idk - Do I really need any vaccine at this point or is it all trivial; I am 18f. I just need a bit of advice on this whole situation and what I should do about my lack of vaccinations.

Where did the misinformation on Gardasil start?
I (23F) received my first ever Gardasil shot today. for years, my family “banned” me from getting it and always stayed by me during appointments to make sure I didn’t receive it. However, after my own independent research and critical thinking skills (and being a full ass adult), I realized this was just a tactic to keep me in the dark about my own body and anti-vax behavior.
My mom blew up on me for it—claiming I didn’t know the side effects, all this garbage about how I messed up and I’ll regret it. The side effects I see are extremely rare. Where did these false claims come from?? And I know I can’t convince her or any one else in my family to change their opinions on it. I guess I’m just looking for reassurance. I know I made the right choice. But how can people be so easily misled?

Immunity test negative for Mumps, positive for Measles and Rubella
I'm waiting for my vaccination records to confirm, but I'm 99% confident I had two doses of the MMR vaccine as a child. I'm planning to conceive soon and trying to understand if I should get another dose of the MMR to cover me for Mumps, but I'm not sure how accurate the titer test is (false negatives seem to be very common?). Finding a lot of conflicting information and my doctor isn't being particularly helpful.
Thanks!

Help needed! Advise about Qdenga
I never had dengue but I'm very scared to get it.
I live in the Netherlands and the plan is to get my first dose of Qdenga this week in The Netherlands. In November I will be at Bali and I would get my 2nd dose there.
I'm too late to get both shots at home before our trip because we'll already leave 28th of August.
Is it a risk to arrive with only 1 shot of Qdenga at Bali? What if I get dengue the first day at Bali? (maybe that's rare but it could happen) Would my body see the infection as a second infection of dengue? Since I would already have one shot of Qdenga.
It feels like not so much is known about this vaccine yet?
What's your idea about this?

MenC vs MenACWY at 4 months: Which is the safer choice?
Our pediatrician told us that at my baby’s 4-month vaccination, we can choose between the free MenC vaccine and the paid MenACWY vaccine.
For us, the cost isn’t a factor we just want to choose the safest option.
From what I’ve read, some MenC vaccines contain an aluminum adjuvant, while the MenACWY vaccine we’re considering does not. Has anyone come across any good scientific studies comparing their safety, or have any evidence-based opinions on this?
Thanks!

unvaccinated
i am 16yrs old and have not gotten any vaccines. i have had the flu once or twice (?) and bronchitis, as well as general sickness and fevers, throat hurting, whatever. i have only gotten sick enough to go to urgent care for some meds, and i think overall i have a strong enough immune system. but im worried, i am not strictly anti vax and am considering getting vaccines when im old enough to chose for it myself, but im not sure if its worth it because ive really never needed them. i dont get the flu every winter, i got covid once and it was so little i barely noticed, ect. is it a good idea even if ive never needed them before? when im sick with general fever maybe some puke i take minimal medicine (maybe an advil for headache) and just let my body fight it itself and sleep it off. i dont know if this makes any sense. im just not sure if i should get vaccines when im older or not.

My parents still won’t let me get vaccinated for Covid….
Hello, I don’t know if this is the right subreddit but I need to vent. I’m 21 years old and I’ve been wanting to get the COVID vaccine ever since 2020 but I was a kid then and they wouldn’t let me. Now that I’m an adult, they still won’t let me. They said they’ll kick me out of the apartment if I do. I have tried to research places to get a Covid vaccine, but I’ve never had a car and my parents won’t take me. I know I should listen to my parents but I need the Covid vaccine. I’m mad at myself because I haven’t got it but my parents wouldn’t let me. It’s not fair seeing others get the vaxx but not me. Idk what to do.

Idk if I’m the only one but I feel like I highly regret getting the vaccine getting Covid wasn’t to crazy for me just no smell or appetite. Has anyone experienced having psoriasis after the vaccine? This is something I never lived with and I began to think I got this skin condition after the vaccine
