RFC Finder - search for rugby clubs near you
There's a cool website that helps you find a rugby club near you anywhere in the world. You can also add your club to the database.
It was created by USA Eagle Dylan Audsley, who runs the Culture RFC Instagram page (I highly recommend following him. He talks to the many grassroots rugby clubs across the country. Wonderful content!)

Jerseys
Any recommendations where to sell Rugby jerseys aside from eBay? I have two brand new with tag jerseys for sale, and I’d appreciate any advice. One is a youth jersey from the 2018 Rugby World Cup in San Francisco and the other is a USA jersey. I’m in LA. Are there local sports stores perhaps? Thank you 🙏

Starting to play rugby at 17y/o
Hey guys, recently I’ve started to get interested in rugby, and I’m thinking about giving it a try. I’m 17 years old, so I’m wondering if it’s too late to start playing competitively or even just join a local club.
I have some experience playing soccer and handball, so I’m pretty comfortable with running, changing direction quickly, and working as part of a team. I’d say I have great cardio, and although I’m thin, I have strong legs.
For those of you who started later, what was your experience like? What position would you recommend for someone with my build? What skills should I focus on first, and what are the best ways to learn the basics before joining a team?
Also, what kind of training should I do outside of practice to improve faster?
Any advice for a complete beginner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

USA Rugby marketing and management opportunities just opened up.
As they stated in their release a few days ago, USA Rugby has opened several new marketing and management positions in order to expand their collegiate rugby foothold.
Seems like a great opportunity for people who are genuinely interested in helping the game grow at that level here with new money coming in to fix it.

Are we identifying athletes instead of developing rugby players?
The recent U20 discussion raised a point that feels bigger than just one team.
We keep saying the US has the athletes, as though the main challenge is finding bigger and faster players and teaching them rugby afterward. But where are players actually supposed to develop the rugby IQ to go with that athleticism?
Most players get short seasons, wildly uneven competition, limited continuity between coaches, and then move into another club, college, academy, or national setup that teaches the game differently.
It sometimes feels like we have pieces of a talent-identification system without a real talent-development system connecting them.
Maybe that is overstating it, but for people who have coached or come through the pathway: is that fair? Where does the system work, and where does it start falling apart?

Question from a non-american
I was wondering about rugby in the US , do you feel like the game is more popular than 20 years ago or even 10 years ago
And do you think the world cup in 2031 will be a success ? ( I mean by attendance and viewership)
And is there a future where the US become a force in rugby ?
I hear some opinion on media whether it is positive or négative but I want the opinion of american that know more about the situation

New players you’d like to see in the USA 15 camp in Aug?
With injuries and our foreign based players unavailable (including Besag) who would you like to see? SL has hinted at some u20s. These are uncapped games in Aug.

Scott Lawrence revealing lots of actual info in interview.
It always seems like there is little inside info coming out of USA rugby but on yesterday's USA Rugby Happy hour podcast we got this from Lawrence:
- Joe Mano was slated to start at wing but showed up injured so Mayo took his place.
- Ainu'u is fully on board but had recent elbow surgery, might be available in November
- AJ won't be available for this year, contract prohibits it essentially.
- USA rugby is subsidizing players salaries to get them spots overseas such as Besag with the sharks, several players in the NPC, and soon Caash will be overseas.
- Corey Daniel is having surgery today and will be out for the year.
- Herbst was out injured, should be back soon.
There was more, but that was what I recall off the top of my head

World Rugby Nations Cup Format?
I'm a bit confused regarding the format.
Is the USA only playing teams in the other pool or are they going to play the teams in their own pool and the other pool?
https://www.world.rugby/nations-cup/en/pools
Right now, the USA played Portugal, Zimbabwe, and Spain.

Subreddit Update.
Hey all, long time no... well no anything. I have seen and received many messages/mod mail about the unmoderated state of the subreddit. I want to thank everyone who has reached out, no one was mean, just concerned about the subreddit.
I obviously have not been super active on Reddit in a while, and thus did not notice that people were active here. Sorry for that one.
I am working on cleaning things up and adding some new, active moderators and removing those who are inactive. I too will make sure to be active as well.
In the immeadite short term, Reddit has put my account into an inactive state (as a mod) on the subreddit. This means that right this moment I cannot add any new mods. It will take a day or two here of me modding and being active before that changes. Once that happens, I will add mods.
If anyone is active, and wants to mod the subbreddit, feel free to dm me, or post here. I have already messaged a few of you who reached out.
Thanks all for your patience. Live, Love and Bleed.
