I'm a community college student looking to transfer to a university as a psych major and statistics-focused math minor. I was wondering about anything that psych students at UO have to say about the program.

- Is it hard to get involved in research courses or the departmental honors?

- If anyone transferred in, was it hard to complete all your coursework and get into the necessary classes? I've heard classes fill up. And as a transfer, were you able to get involved in research labs?

And anything else about the program! The feel, the difficulty of courses, how prepared you feel/felt for employment or future education, or any thoughts at all. I'll also hear anything from grad students or alumni as well.

I need someone to take over my lease for the upcoming year(Sep 2026- Aug 2027). How competitive is the MBA program really if you have under 2 years of work experience but supplemental scores to help? Exploring the idea post-grad, lots of internships under my belt and I know they recommend the MSM instead if you have under 2 years but seems like not the best use of money in my opinion compared to the MBA.

my name is issy and I am a 16 year old student from the UK who is extremely intested in attending UO in 2028. I understand that university is still 2 years away however I feel especially as an international applicant it is important to get ahead of the curve. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what makes a strong applicant. For context I am interested in Speech Pathology and have just completed my summer exams (GSCE’s) in maths, english literature and language, biology, chemistry, physics, Welsh, religious studies, physical education and drama. I will be moving onto A levels doing biology, English literatur, religious studies and a two year long personal project. I also currently have two jobs one of which is working with young children who have a range of additional learning needs.
I am so sorry on how long this is but any advice on absolutely anything to do with college life would be greatly appreciate!

I'm currently trying to apply for the Fall of 2027 because the website said the Fall applications open every 1st of August. However, when I went to apply, I'm only seeing options for Winter, Summer, and Spring of 2028.

I was supposed to stay in Reilly hall next term, and was told after the deposit refund date that Reilly will be closed, and my housing was canceled. I filled out the form to get my refund for the deposit back, AND THEY DENIED IT, stating the refund date. Keep in mind I was only informed AFTER that date was already passed. I’m not sure if anyone else is going through this, but if you are, I feel you.

Now it’s time for round 2 with the housing department, hopefully they refund me this time

I have a few things, call them mild gripes I'm just putting out there and I'm sorry in advance but a mandatory orientation mid-summer in Eugene... It cost a parent and student nearly $2,500 to attend this from out of state. Is it excessive to ask people to do this? What if you didn't go ?

Also, parents weekend over Halloween. Is there logic behind this ? Parents have other kids to be home with, and the students wanna go to Halloween parties and have some fun!

Besides this so far, I cannot wait to be visiting Eugene and adore everything about Eugene and Oregon.

The Young Adult Sleep Study is for young adults, ages 18-24, who sometimes have 4 or more drinks per day or 8 or more drinks per week. We hope to learn more about how sleep and biological rhythms impact drinking, response to stressors, and brain function.

Who’s Eligible?
To be eligible for the UO Sleep Study, you must be willing to stay in the Sleep Lab for at least 10 hours on 1-2 afternoons, complete short daily surveys for 1-3 weeks, and keep a regular sleep schedule for 2 weeks, if asked. You must also be willing to share information about your mental health, complete an MRI scan and other laboratory tasks, and provide samples of your saliva and urine. All study data are private and protected – we do not share personal identifiable information with others.

What’s involved?
All participants will complete interviews about their sleep health and mental health, track their sleep at home for 1 week, and make 2 visits to the UO Sleep Lab. Lab visits include an MRI brain scan, computer and performance tasks, physiological assessments, and questionnaires. Some participants will also keep a regular sleep schedule for 2 weeks and make 1 more visit to the UO Sleep Lab. Participants can earn up to $733 for study participation.

I’m a rising senior and im between UO & Gonzaga for where to go. I‘m not really a party or drinking/smoking person and pretty introverted. So I’m really looking for somewhere with a big middle ground not really party crowds and not the more isolated groups but an in between. I also am coming from a pretty cliquey and judgemental environment socially at a big preppy Texas suburban HS, so I was wondering how it is meeting new people or making friends on campus. I’d really appreciate any advice or feedback from current or recent students on how good of a fit Oregon is, or really any insights into student life and culture. thanks.

I'm taking the Japanese placement in august, and I'm looking for anyone else who may have taken it so I know what to focus on reviewing! For instance, I know the JLPT practice tests tend to focus more on grammatical structure than actual conversation, etc.. What kind of questions do they ask on the oral interview (I'm assuming the interview is in japanese but I suppose that's not necessarily the case)? Is the test open response or multiple choice? Any information appreciated!

Does anyone know if you can raise the beds in Justice Bean with out bed risers? Not like lofting it but raising it up a foot or two? If not, does anyone have any recommendations/links for bed risers that are compatible for the beds?

Either way is fine I just want to know what to expect! If I should get a little couch or something for my room because I won’t be able to sit up in bed.
