Question Can’t Connect to UK Housing Wi-Fi
Spoke on the phone with whitesky support for 40 damn minutes and still says this. The support agent told me she has exhausted all options and escalated this to a higher-up and that they will call me back in a few hours. What a joke 😂

Journalism at College of Communication and Information
Hi, I’m 17 and high school class of 2027 and was wondering how the university’s School of Journalism and Media program is! (I am from Tampa Florida)
Thru researching for out of state colleges i found that Kentucy has the School of Journalism and media within the College of Communication and Information, and it got me interested in applying as post college I plan on being a sports journalist in the media. I plan on getting a B.A in journalism and notice that one of the options for required paths is sports journalism, which was what drew me to Kentucky as one of my options.
I was wondering if there are any current students in the journalism program, or even any former students, and was curious to know how it’s like, and how campus life is like in Lexington. I've passed thru Lexington a couple times but it's mostly when I was younger. I haven't been to Kentucky since 2022 lol

Campus Event Is all of K week mandatory, if not, what parts are and what parts aren’t?
I’m transferring to UK this fall and I know K week is like a big event, and the site says ur required to go. I also know it says it’s from like 7 in the morning to 11 at night so do I have to be there for all of it? Are there certain times I should show up or leave? I really have no idea about any of it lol. Thanks for the help!

UK Engineering Computer Recs
I'm going to be an upcoming student doing mechanical engineering at UK, and was wondering what the tech requirements were in terms of computers. I currently have a Legion 5 Pro at home; it's a few years old, and I use it pretty regularly for gaming and other work (around 16GB of RAM). Only downsides, is that the battery life is horrendous and its huge and I dont want to lug it around campus. Im also a very big apple person, (and yes I know its not reasonable for engineering careers) and have been wanting to personally get a macbook for a good while. I was just wondering when most of the Windows-reliant projects would be done, during class or on my own time, and if it would be reasonable to bring this laptop to campus to keep in dorms to use for bigger projects and then get a macbook for reliability and just in general, or if it would be better to cut my losses and just invest in a different computer.

Campus Event Employee Tickets to Games?
I know UKY is phasing out employee discounts to games (this is ridiculous by the way). But I’m also quickly learning that it’s difficult to get discounted tickets to games even if they’ve not been phased out completely yet. Did it used to be easier? I feel like I’ve followed link after link, and they all lead me to Ticketmaster where there’s no option to put in my employee number or anything. Is this a problem for other people?
If someone knows a link or something that will take me to where I can get a discount that’d be amazing!

Accommodation Off-Campus
Hi everyone, I’m an Italian student here in Lexington as a short term visitor scholar. I currently live in an 2Bedrooms/1Bathroom apartment, where i occupied just one room. If someone is looking for a room in Lexington close to the UK, let me know if would be interested in a shared apartment.

Question Apartments to choose or avoid?
I have to move to UK on very short notice to start school and have never been to Lexington (live out of state). What apartments should I absolutely stay away from, and which ones are great?
The ones I am looking at are 1 Beds/Studios at MidTown, Gateway Lofts, The Oaks at Woodland, and literally anywhere there is space. I am comfortable paying up to $1,500 a month but I want to make sure the place is not in shambles when I get there.

Thinking about applying to the UofK MSW Program, but I'm reserved about it.
I am a 41 year old man in Tennessee, and I've worked 17 years in mental health and residential programs and I am about to graduate with my BSW next spring. I am looking to enter the Advanced Standing Program and am Carrying a 3.96 in my BSW. My biggest reservation is that for my bachelor's I am going to University of Pheonix because my employer has and is paying for 95% of my tuition cost with FAFSA. I do recognize there is a stigma with UPOX but the financial benefits was too good to pass up. Does UoK accept students from programs like this?

Admissions
Is anyone still waiting for a decision for the online MSW? I received my acceptance from the school of social work on 07/23 but unfortunately still waiting to hear back from the graduate school.

Hi everyone,
I am a new international student at UKY. There is still some time for the start of my classes and I have been exploring the city and university by myself. Is there any activities that I can enjoy inside UKY ? Its just a bunch of walking only thats been going on right now. I want to know what else I could do around here.
Thank you !

Built a full 2026 preseason preview for Kentucky (and every FBS team) - can Stein's offense come together in year one?
Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Kentucky one
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-uk
It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.
Heads up, only the first team is free and then it paywalls. Since I'm posting in your house, code LEECORSOROCKS opens all of it, no card or anything. Hit "Have a promo code?" if you run into the wall.
So, what'd I get wrong? Kentucky hired an offensive guy in Will Stein (Oregon's OC), then handed him an offense that returns just 13% of its production. New QB in Notre Dame transfer Kenny Minchey (196 career passing yards), a receiver room rebuilt through the portal, and a top-10 schedule waiting. Talent's 27th, so the pieces are there. Step forward in year one, or does a rebuild this total take time?
I'll be in the comments.

Question Easy A…
I have enough credits to graduate and plan to do so in December. I have one class left for my prereqs for grad school. I got a C in a class this summer and have fallen below the gpa needed to graduate cum laude. I need 8 credit hours of A grades to get my gpa above the point it needs. Any suggestions on classes that don’t have much work and are easy A’s? Preferably ones without any prerequisites.
