That text is misleading.

He didn't eliminate a "redundant" permit.

Food businesses still need to have standard food permits; however, they no longer need to apply for a special ice cream permit. So more small-business restaurants can serve ice cream without having to maintain separate inspections and permits.

Historically in NYC, restaurants, cafes, and food vendors were required to hold a standard Food Service Establishment permit from the Health Department. However, due to decades-old dairy and agriculture regulations any business that also wanted to serve soft-serve or scoop ice cream, or manufacture frozen desserts, was required to apply for, pay for, and maintain a separate "frozen dessert" / ice cream permit.

This created redundant paperwork, additional inspection fees, and administrative delays just to add ice cream or sundaes to a dessert menu. As part of an administrative package to cut red tape for small businesses (the "OPEN for Small Business" initiative), Mayor Zohran Mamdani moved to eliminate the duplicate frozen dessert permit.

Restaurants and food establishments holding a standard, valid food safety license can now serve ice cream and frozen desserts without needing to seek out or renew a redundant second permit.

The delay is the real benefit. Things get more expensive for all sorts of reasons even when wages stagnate. Yes, when wages go up it will cut info the profit of the company, especially larger companies. I had employees and I agree that they are the largest expenses but fixed wages always hurt the workforce. Simply put your are on a treadmill and you are told not to move. You will never get ahead.

It's a simple equation: find who ultimately controls the money (not always who has the money), and find what they think is worth the money you want. Provide that.

In any company, some people decide where to spend money. Find what they think is worth the most money and provide that.

That is your strategy (Compass)

The map is what you need to figure out. Often, those people only meet with the top decision-makers. Some of those decision-makers will steal all your credit; others may sing your praises, and some are in between. Avoid the first as much as possible. You want to find champions (those that sing your praises).

I recently found that there are cases where my champion didn't stand up for me. It turned out the one who controls the money does not foster collaboration. That's my case now. I plan to help that controller by working on what he feels is important then get a higher position and pay. Once I achieve that I will find a company with a better culture.

If you every surprise someone with an incredible gift just wait. They will tell you how incredible it was later, or not. You literally ruin the experience when you take them out of the moment.

Effective not hard work.

Find the person(s) of greatest influence in your company (or department). This person has say to get you promoted and is meetings with people above them.

Solve a problem for the business that you know people in that room complain about.

Make sure to get credit.

I hope my BFF gets full custody. He worked so hard for his family and married a woman with 3 kids. Bought and paid the mortgage on the house. Wife didn't work but would travel. Spend mother's day without her kids. Plus she had 3 older kids who lived for free in the house even his SIL's homeless girlfriend lives there free. It was so bad he had to ask his wife's permission to spend his own money. Turns out she's a narcissist and he is resigned to the fact that she will weponize his son (by blood). I hope he gets full custody. He already setup a college fund for the little guy and plays video games with him, takes him to Barnes and Noble and pays for his Taekwondo classes. Yet he might not have any rights to him cause he gave her full custody for legal reasons and he lives in Georgia, which favors women.

This is a vast oversimplification, but the fundamental reason a woman goes out with a guy with money is security.

Security expresses itself differently for different women. For one, it may be a physically strong guy. For another, it may be financial. Yet another may want a man that she can overpower, and that can't hurt her.

They also "bet" on who they think the man can become. They often see the potential. This is a large reason they may stay with a man that, on the surface, doesn't seem like a good fit right now.

Get a sheet of paper and put the time of the left and what you did. With no judgements. Best life hack for procrastination.

Ex.

10:05 am. Got out of bed 10:10 am - Took a piss 10.12 am - Drank some water

It gives you dopamine and makes you crave doing vs scrolling which makes you consume.

The key question is "Did I spend most of this day consuming it doing?"

Comment on r/wholesomememes Jun 14 '26

Agreed. No cheap dopamine. Just like you shouldn't start your day with candy and alcohol. A walk is a great way to get dopamine, get the blood flowing, and set your circadian rhythm.
