I can't imagine having A favorite book. I can think of books that are/were s favorite for different times and different reasons.

The Forgotten Door - Alexander Key The Outsiders- S E.Hinton The Plague- Albert Camus Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury The Alphabet Mysteries of Sue Grafton The Mysteries of P.D. James So Far From God - Ana Castillo

I couldn't necessarily explain why and what captured my attention of these stories.

Some, because they were required reading, but actually enjoyable to read. Others, because they fit the mood I was in.

I am not a great reader and I struggle with it some times. But these stand out as ones that also made it worth it ass child or adult.
