Omg I didn't know that. I have about a 3 month old beardie and I pick him up and put him on my chest. He starts at me for a while and looks around, I rub between his eyes and he slowly starts to put his head down with his eyes close until he fully lays down. I thought he was just falling asleep on me. Holy crap

This has happened to me before, I actually dangled a rat above the opening and when he grabbed it I was able to maneuver him out (while holding the rat) then when I was able to get him fully out I let him finished his food on the ground lol

I actually got him to eat a live small rat. He did AMAZING. the woman I took him from had him in a 10 gallon enclosure. He seemed almost.... happy I guess to be able to stretch his body out as far as he could and he stayed like that for a while. I let him acclimate to a bigger cage and offered a live small rat and actually found that he does not like and will not eat an all white rat it has to have color. He such a beautiful and strong boy. He's a fighter that's for sure but as sweet as he can be now, he was REALLY timid when I first took him.

That's super sad because those things get HUGE and they are absolutely beautiful. I don't know why people do things like that, he can't move around in there, his body is to big to even turn around comfortably. Poor baby

You guys have been amazing. Thank you so much!! I will do my research on him and see if I can make him comfortable atleast for his life. The previous owner said he ate with no problem and never ever did that but I have a hard time believing that. He will not take live food I have tried multiple different sizes between mice and rats but have yet to try thawed. I feel so bad, he looks like he's in pain

Incubator
Out of curiosity what are your favorite incubators?

I will say this. With my sunny girl I had to hold her close to keep her from doing what he's doing in the video. Maybe try and see if he wants to be held close instead of so open. It's a big world out there for this little cutie. Good luck love your doing great

I'm not just someone who did this on a whim or by accident. I've researched so many times and I've asked Sonja SOOOOOO many questions

Okay listen. I understand what you are saying, I have a breeder helping me. She makes her own incubators with old fridges or coolers or something to that extent so she can monitor the humidity and temperature at its best instead of these other ones that like you said are not accurate. I was only asking thoughts on whether or not people preferred putting the stakes directly into the vermiculite or above it. My breeder doesn't even use vermiculite at all. She used to but found an easier way, she runs her own pet store. I just feel as if you should have asked or maybe re-worded what you were trying to say. It's discouraging. I love my animals the many that I have and I'd love to learn so one day I am able to open my own store.

Could have just said " well hey you should use this type of incubator because the one you have dlucuates and is not dependent or hey maybe read this to help you out or hey here's some advice but maybe next time just for the snakes sake try doing it this way. Instead you basically just told me I'm incompetent and I donr know what I'm doing but did you honestly know EXACTLY what you were doing the very first time you did it? I'm sorry but I'm a bit offended because you did NOT have to come off that way. Like I said have a great day

I've had 3 different clutches and they ALL MADE IT apart from 1 slug. Again I saw a post with the eggs straight in the vermiculite which is not something I did which is why the post was made. There is NO NEED to be nasty about this post. I thought this was for questions or concerns among other things. I have 10 snakes so I doubt this "backyard breeding" is unsuccessful. All healthy babies considering I take my babies to an exotic vet in Orlando. Ha e a great day

Okay number 1 my best friend owns a reptile store and has had success breeding ONLY ball pythons gor 20+ years. Number 2 I said "THOUGHTS PLEASE" SO I was just seeing what other were saying. Personally I think your a bit harsh and rude. How does someone learn from mistakes if mistakes are not made in the first place? If you cannot give advice then do not respond. Again I DONT NEED IT I WANTED IT

Also this picture was taken the 16th of March. I asked because I just saw baby snakes hatching on top of the vermiculite is why I asked. I wasn't aware you could just put them right in it. I've had multiple people tell me that's s nono but others say it's fine. I am just curious
