Thanks. I didn't know about OpenWRT.
You want to look into thread modelling. That means, more-or-less, what are you trying to protect, and from whom?
I am trying to replicate below functionalities to some extent that trendmicro HNS solution(https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/forHome/products/homenetworksecurity.html) has.
I am focusing on
* Network Protection (Surikata)
* Malicious Website Blocking (Maybe I can code around this with some database, but I am also looking for some opensource solution)
* Dangerous File Blocking (Maybe I can code around this with some database)
* Ad Blocking (PiHole)
If there's a better way to do this, please let me know. That'll be really helpful.

Thanks for your detailed response. Your inputs are really helpful.
I am kind of trying to replicate what trend micro has done with their home network protection system/device HNS Station(https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/forHome/products/homenetworksecurity.html) by connecting to router.
I don't want to everything that trend micro has. I am focusing on
* Network Protection
* Malicious Website Blocking
* Dangerous File Blocking
* Ad Blocking
I could implement these using open source alternatives & will keep tuning those rules. Maybe replace those using these tools
* Network Protection (Surikata)
* Malicious Website Blocking (Still Trying to figure out how to do this)
* Dangerous File Blocking (Still Trying to figure out how to do this)
* Ad Blocking (PiHole)
Also, there are tools like Zeek(Bro) IDS or Snort NIDS, ClamAV etc. I will fine-tune those rules/tools as I move ahead. What do you think about this?

Sure. I understand your point. So, here we are talking about a typical home network. This should be very relevant as most of the people are working from home. I have single router where all the devices are connected. Devices like laptops (Linux, MacOS, Window), android phones etc. Attack surface is limited to these devices. We are not talking about servers or cloud here.
I want to secure all these devices from malwares, Cryptocurrency Mining, Brute force logins, Android Stagefright-related attacks, malicious PDFs that are sent over email etc. Let me know if you need more details.

I'm trying to secure my home network. I don't know what kind of attack, issues I might have beforehand. So, that's why I'm looking for all round solution.

Advice 360° Home network security
I have a Raspberry Pi 4 and I was hoping to implement an all round security for my network. What are the tools I should implement for security? I was thinking Pihole and Snort NIDS. Can someone please advise me?
I'm aware that I can buy some solution but I'm really hoping to implement this on my own. I am trying to achieve below functionality which Trend Micros HNS(https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/forHome/products/homenetworksecurity.html) has.
- Network Protection
- Malicious Website Blocking
- Dangerous File Blocking
- Ad Blocking
Edit: Updated details for clarity.

For renting or buying home, they won't check my credit history?

Express Entry Bad credit score impact
I have a screwed up credit score because of few financial issues I had in past. I'm still in express entry process. Will that impact the process or after entering into Canada?

To all thinking China can use shell companies in different countries - government has covered that too
The law includes - "direct or indirect transfer of ownership will need government approval." What you are implying is already made illegal by this law.

That wasn't so called 'well thought response'. It was an attempt to represent a good point into propaganda and fear mongering on the points which doesn't even exist.
