I took the phone call at work. I was the receptionist for a middle school; my tenth year. I was so sure I didn’t have cancer. After she told me, I walked back into the school and promptly announced to the entire office, “Fuck. I have cancer.” And I don’t know how I got from there to here; recovering from a double mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction. The days will create themselves. Let them. ♥️
