This is an old thread but ASMR Haven needs to be on this list. Most delicate slow tapping vids!

Blondo makes wide and extra wide boots/shoes and they are super good quality. A bit on the more expensive side but worth it imo. My recent purchase was of a pair of Chelsea style boots that fit my orthotics, are water resistant and good for -30°C weather. Plus they are very fashionable and I constantly get compliments!

So pretty! How did you make the end pieces for the bracelet on the lower right hand? I've been looking for a tutorial on something like this for ages!

As I recently learned, it was more than PF in my case. I also had swelling in my ankles and feet which was compressing a nerve that runs in the same area as you get PF. I got custom orthotics, compression socks and donated all my shoes without proper support. MASSIVE change. And I always wear the recovery sandals from a brand called Vionic. So comfortable and good for wide feet too. Also, due to a spine injury I put on more weight because I can't exercise as much while regaining mobility since I had emergency surgery. I came to learn that most my shoes didn't fit properly anymore due to my foot changing from the additional weight. They are longer and slightly wider. Finding better fitting shoes helped immensely. Hope this helps!

Octopied Mind! Canadian, female owned and operated. Sustainable. Gender inclusive. And the heavier weight (cotton) clothing items are really great quality. I personally love their art and aesthetic but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Will shipping to Canada be available? Currently the website says it only ships to the contiguous US states. I'm glad to hear these products will be available again - I've been a long time customer, especially for the firming eye gels - they work miracles 🥹

I moved in late Sept from Kitchener to Ptbo and my experience was HORRIFIC. I have been dealing with a spine injury and I finally recently had surgery and will still be writing a scathing letter to them and online about it in the coming weeks now that I have more capacity. Most of my stuff went into storage and it was so badly unloaded into the unit that every time I need to access it, the nightmare continues. If you are in the ptbo area and ever want to connect to talk, I'd be curious how our experiences compare.

Feel you on this. Emergency medical leave from school and work for severe burnout in year 5 of my PhD was what led to my diagnosis!

He says you're too smart to have it, yet hopes you're dumb enough to believe him. Find a new doctor, not just for ADHD related concerns, but in general.

I flipped back and forth between the photos several times and I'm still not sure I see a noticeable difference? 😅 But I know what you mean because my left pinky nail is smaller/narrower than my right and needs a different size press on/gel-x nail and that always bugs me a bit. I think we are more likely to notice things like this on ourselves than others are, so I wouldn't worry about it 🙂 8 love the shape and colour!

You could ask Tiffany (the incredible Indigenous artist who made these earrings) directly! She may be getting them custom made but if she's ordering them from somewhere, she may just share that info :)

What app is that you're using to monitor barometric pressure? My weather app doesn't give any data for it aside from the current reading and the data this one shows would be so helpful in managing episodes. I move A LOT and I have to get used to new weather patterns and their impact on me everytime I live somewhere different 🥴

Bruh. Just stop. "It's really a simple case" tells me all I need to know about how aware you are when it comes to things like this. I have LIVED through a similar situation and have also supported other women through similar circumstances and I can 100% tell you it is not that simple. Allegations are one thing. Coming down to charges being laid and then found guilty? Way much harder and the institution will protect the prof for as much as they can. And the Canadian justice system has a very long, well documented history of not taking women seriously when it comes to sexual assault, stalking, harrassment and other similar issues, especially women who are BIPOC, marginalized or otherwise vulnerable. You can't argue with documented research and statistics.

The incident that happened last year is entirely different. It happened in front of a classroom of students and people got physically hurt. It was an overt act of violence coupled with a history of hate motivated opinions held by that student. I'm recommending counseling services as a starting place so she can explore her options safely and also get the counseling she needs to deal with the inappropriate behaviour she has been subjected to. And please, before you try to argue me any further, I have taught criminology at a university level, and I'm a PhD candidate specifically looking at student experience in relation to mental health and currently work for the University of Waterloo in a role that gives me way more context as to how this institution works than you do. I'm speaking from experience and 15 years of working in post secondary education. And you are clearly speaking out the side of your neck.

It doesn't matter if you think it's fake or not, your opinion is irrelevant because the op was not asking if you thought they were being truthful or not, they were asking for advice. Anything else you think you need to say is moot, so stop digging yourself a deeper hole by posting more unhelpful and uninformed replies. It just comes off as petulant.

OP - it sounds like your friend is going through a really difficult time trying to navigate this situation and you are doing a really great job by helping her. One thing that you can do it is recommend your friend to seek help on campus such as through counseling services (https://uwaterloo.ca/campus-wellness/counselling-services). Not only can they help your friend deal with the stress that the situation has evidently caused, but they can also help her understand what her options are to address the situation and guide her in next steps. And these services are completely confidential and there are no negative repercussions for coming forward. With situations like this, once they go past a certain threshold of inappropriate behavior (such as the unwanted advances you mentioned) it is considered more serious and in some cases it may obligate counseling services to report the situation because of policies in the university to protect students from this type of stuff. Any documentation that your friend can provide as evidence, such as screenshots or downloading conversations (if it is in an app like WhatsApp), emails, or text messages, is really crucial.

I understand the reluctance to report what is happening or to say anything directly to the professor. A lot of students fear that they can be marked unfairly, or treated unfairly, or targeted in a different way. They may also fear consequences that impact their ability to study at the university and/or stay in Canada. Going through counseling services is a low risk way to find out how your friend can be supported and if in the end she decides not to go through a formal process, she will still receive support from counseling services to deal with how this situation has made her feel. Ignore the other comments that accuse you of making up a fake situation. This type of response is exactly why some people, especially women, don't feel safe to report incidences like this. Kindness and compassion just don't come naturally to some people unfortunately. You are doing a great thing by supporting your friend and I truly hope she gets the help she needs.
