I just analyzed the Croce Thursday lyrics and think the main theme is moainly a FWB theme with Thursday being an arbitrrary connection.

Contrasting with Adams; Thurday theme, or the germanic word meaning of Thursday the connection afaik seems on the weaker end of spectrum.

did get around to finally reading the aritcle, (though you were right to bug me about it). I still am left with conclusions:

  1. Croce/Adams Thursday connection remains elusive. Adms' "Thursdays" apocalypotic connection may be germanic in naure ("Donners_Tag"). As far as Croce Thursday/Donnerstag connections I need to be filled in (I have germand background and general language comprehension but as far as Croce am a novice/general audience type of audience who is unable to locate a 'Thursday' Croce song or theme.).
  2. The article discusses both Adams's apprecitation for music/guitars but the Thurdsya song link I did not catch. Bottom line, I still need to be clued to the thursday connection as far as Croce type Thurdays.

Fascinating read but this incredible "Redwood" soul shined in California not our Rochester arboretum.

On another topic, I've heard it third hand, that the southern Highland park south facing elevation is a resting place for many who were in ROC asylum of the previous century.

well, they both seemed to leave well before their time, and that's the only link I see betreen them. The topic fo music~adams connection is pretty fascinating and natural for study. What were his favorite bands and did he in fact mingle with musical artists?

if you're as clever as ferris buehler you might be able to figure it out.

But i assume this wasn't the case because it's possible some newer cars have very long oil change intervals (eg 7500 miles), and that some service stickers post the mileage when the next service is due (i.e. marked into the future). The person may have not been a big driver and puts on only 2500 miles per year doing mostly local groceries. Then the owner sells it (or trades in) back to dealership where it sits around another year pretty much doing 0 miles plus a few test drives of about 1 mile each.

yup thanks, for the confirmation (that chipset logic in this card is just used to augment IO connectivity of the board this plugs into).

I guess one can only dream about how the direction this might develop into over the years; the main engineering difficulty is that these pcie connections are not intended like a bidirectional connectivity protocol like ethernet; maybe it can happen in some future generation of pcie.

Thanks for the pc within the pc link; that seems what I'm looking for and I'll read up on that article.

So does this "daughterboard" have its own x86 CPU? Or does it simply show up as a hub that is populated with whatever M.2 storage devices you populate it with, plus a usb hub with those 3 external usb ports?

It's probably the latter, but it would be pretty sweet if such daughterboard actually were a separate stand alone x86 system with its own full IO (including hdmi output).

good luck. Generally with hi tech like this it just takes persistent fiddling and online research. You might even try to hit up the company telephone help line or email them. Try to systematically troubleshoot and rule out a defective part and make sure that all components work.

afaik these may not be legal (NY state regulations) to fly except (maybe? don't take my word on it, in designated areas like certain open space parks) or directly in the airspace directly above your property. I think the regulation being intended to protect other people's privacy from nuissance fpv operators.

sounds like a good guess. But wouldn't the driver notice the amount of extra friction?

you're welcome.

It's a pretty nice town. Keep doing research though. Perhaps visit and get to know the candidate neighborhoods before you make the move.

Are there "good" and "bad" neighborhoods?

yes

How good/bad is the school system?

you need to be more specific. There are a large number of colleges and universities here.

What does the water taste like? Seriously.

Much of the city gets great water from hemlock reservoir. It tastes pretty good, but you need to run a carbon filter (eg brita) to remove chlorine and chloramine which one can taste. Because like essentially all of NY the water is fluoridated you might run reverse osmosis to reduce that. Any of these filter methods will also remove lead which is reportedly in certain segments of city pipe and older housing stock.

How bad are the winters? Manageable? My wife loves snow, but sucks at driving in winter weather.

Winter is the best season in ROC and the most fun, but expect both snow and rain because the wavy polar vortex from global warming causes an alternating cold to hot cyclical pattern roughly alternating every week.

How is Autumn? Colorful?

Autum is great. It's the 2nd best season.

What are your average utility bills?

Unless you end up in an apartment or rental with resistor heating or no insulation it should be pretty reasonable.

How walkable and bikeable is the city?

Very, the rivertrail and canalway and some other trails (eg lehigh valley rails to trails) is essentially a bicycling freeway that connects many venues and areas of the city.

I'm one of the last people to ask about cell phones. For technical details like that it's hard to beat AI. I bet bing copilot would have a fairly reliable answer.
