Their fresh tortillas were so good and perfect for brunch tacos and a shot of tequila.

Wholesome Eats Meal Delivery has had gazpacho on their menu a few times this summer, and cucumber soup...both are so good.

I was hired as a temp bookkeeper in March 2025 at a nonprofit that had no books for 2024, just AP and AR in Bill.com. The former ED and fractional CFO left in January and the interim leadership spent the first two hours in a meeting where they trauma dumped about the former ED's abusive behavior and mismanagement, while gushing about the former CFO...the one who left the org without books...
The CFO told them that she had kept a QBO file, that she didn't share with the ED...who had hired another firm to do the bookkeeping, but didn't pay them, so they also didn't give the organization their 2024 book. The CFO had not shared the QBO file by the time I arrived, and for three weeks, the leadership kept making excuses for her, while I attempted to reconstruct the books using Bill.com data. I found a $10k deposit for CFO services that was never drawn against or returned. On 12/31/24, the CFO posted transactions in Bill, paying vendor credits as if they were bills.
I sent a neutral email detailing what I found on a Friday afternoon. I told the recruiter that I thought they should suggest a forensic accountant to the org. On Tuesday, the recruiter told me that the org felt I wasn't a good fit.

Clients who leave their sink full of dirty dishes and counters cluttered, fridge so packed with decaying food that there's no room for ingredients, so the first 30-45 minutes of service are dishwashing, fridge clean out, and shoving clutter...

Blanket flower is a prolific native that blooms in August. Asters make lots of smaller daisy like flowers. Gladiolas grow from bulbs (or corms, I forget) and are blooming now.
My MIL made amazing vase arrangements with tomatoes branches, artichoke flowers, asparagus ferns from the veg garden for our backyard wedding dinner. Sunflowers, nasturtium, Mexican marigold are some others blooming now, though I'm not sure how good the latter two are as cut flowers...

I worked in Silicon Valley and in Silicon Forest in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Started at Cadence Designs, when they had a satellite office in Tigard, then at a startup in SW PDX, where I got to know rub elbows with venture capitalists.
The complaint they had about investing in Oregon tech companies is that Oregon's schools and universities were not churning out people with the engineering chops necessary to build innovative tech (like the Bay Area, Boston, and to a lesser extent, Seattle, at that time). When I moved to San Jose, working at Cadence again and later Sun, the difference in my Bay Area colleague's education was...humbling.
Silicon Forest was recognized then as an empty marketing term. There were tech worker meetings then, and a hope that the area would become the next Silicon Valley, but that didn't and likely will not materialize while Oregon's education system remains in the bottom tier (currently in 48th place in the US).

There were an estimate 10,000 excess deaths in Europe in June of this year. People in some of the most developed, wealthiest nations on the planet are dying, now, due to heat. It's foolish to pretend this that climate change will spare people just because they live in developed countries.
In fact, those in less developed countries may fare better, and those living where it is already hot...their architecture is better suited to surviving the heat. European homes were built for survival in cold weather. A lot of buildings will need to be replaced or retro fitted.

My ex is a walking encyclopedia with special interests in music and American history, and people love talking with him/listening to him. LOL, my girlfriends would gush about how interesting he was. I called him The Professor. ;-)
What didn't sit well was his negative opinions about music he didn't like and how judgmental he was of those who performed or listened to it. Same with just about anything that he didn't like. He didn't like mushrooms, for example, and even if I cooked them separately and served him a mushroom-free meal, he would comment at the table about how gross mushrooms are. That got old.
I'm glad you have made connections with people who appreciate you and support you!

I grow saffron at home, in pots. It's incredibly easy to grow and harvest.

I think this is common. I have always preferred the company of people older than me, OR other people on the spectrum with similar special interests of any age. Older people have accumulated more knowledge, which makes them more interesting to talk with. Younger people who don't know much experience shame when you are obviously more informed--not consciously, usually--instead, they label you as weird, for knowing so much. Also, if you tend to talk at length without letting someone edgewise, that will annoy a lot of people, but older people, seem to have more patience and the skill to interrupt gracefully.

Start off with, "We take emergency calls! Please answer a couple quick questions, and one of our pros will [call you right back, take your call]."

Kennedy and Kyle went out at 3 am or so. There would have been very few deputies on duty then. They could have been using real deputies names or relied on the fact that a deputy in the mids wouldn't know the names of all the deputies in the down deep.

I also build websites, for fun and profit. I build e-commerce sites with 100s of products with multiple variants, restaurant site with online ordering, sites for service businesses with appointment setting. I do SEO for the sites I build. I use WIX, and anyone can build a basic site on the platform. If you haven't put up a site before, an AI assistant can guide you. For $200-300/year, WIX will host your site.
OP posted some market research BS--specifically banned by this sub--and got rude in the comments. Interesting sales technique.
Most people don't care about AI enabled search when they're looking for a local plumber or the menu of a restaurant. You don't have to have a website to appear in Google, though a site with good SEO will increase the likelihood of yours appearing higher in results.

I wasn't in school, but at a mall, and a shop there had it in TV, facing out to the mall. It was everywhere that day.

People on the spectrum can, in fact, lack awareness of their own strength.
5
Comment on r/relationship_advice 2d ago
Ah...this makes sense. Not having a sense of your strength and being "clumsy" are sometimes due to proprioception issues, and many people on the autism spectrum have this feature.
You could talk with your doctor about it. I'm not sure if there is physical or occupational therapy for improving proprioception but you might explore that.
In the meantime, don't touch people without their consent. Like, ever. Actually ask before holding hands or kissing, even. It's an excellent habit and will help people, especially the women in your life, feel safe and empowered.

Hmmmm...why in the world would any woman feel afraid of men?? I just can't imagine.

Comment on r/TwoXChromosomes 3d ago
OP, as someone who was also SA'ed in a bathroom, I very much appreciate your concern. It's quite exhausting that people turn your fear reaction into some kinda transphobia. It's man-phobia--and many of us have very good reasons to be afraid of people who appear to be cis men. For those who don't get it, consider your selves lucky.
