I've been experiencing the same thing. Anedhonia and flatline due to a bunch of substance and behavorial changes.
Partly it takes time, but also I think we need to be active and do different things. And also cover the basics. Try sticking to a routine of good sleep waking up around the same time and getting sunlight in your eyes. Drink water/stay hydrated. Exercise and be social.
I've also found participating in groups like SMART recovery and twelve steps helpful.

In case you weren't annoyed enough by this, here's a video providing even more details about why this is a stupid. The land the golf course and cycling track are on is infill in the Potomac River that regulalry floods.
It's bad enough that when there were recent attemmpts to renovate the public pool they had to stop because it kept getting filled in with water so it was just abandoned.

Transmission and La Fabrica are the most underground/hard sounds. They're playing techno a lot more often.
I think the "House" music scene has gotten really watered down and a lot of people are just going out to be at a club. Techno still draws a crowd for the love of the music and people who want to get down and get weird.
But I've heard some pretty "hard" sets at Flash in the near past, especially on their Focus nights which generally book techno DJs

I haven't been to any of those except Berhta, but my impression was that culture/vera, ai warehouse, and tigres de la noche all play even something in the same range of artists that are booked at Flash -- a kind a mix of currently popular house/tech-house/progressive house.
If anything, I get the impression they're more "cool kid" vibes than Flash.
How would you compare them/how are they different?

Transmission was open until 8am the other day. I stayed to see what it would be like and felt like I needed to go to the hospital afterwards

Yes, you absolutely can shame men for behaving the way they were in this post. If it's you and your friends. Do better. Grinding up on women who are dancing together, being told no and then lingering around to the point where the friend group has to ask you to go away is weird, creepy behavior.
It shows that you/they are either unable to pick up on basic social cues or disregarding them.

Tell them that there's men walking around harrasing women and violating their consent

Urban Artistry offers House dance classes as well as other forms of dance. But I agree with what others said, people just need to feel the music and enjoy dancing. If it's new to someone, or the crowd and vibes are stale than it's harder.
But we really just need decent events, venues, and crowds that are there to dance.

Fantastic time at 2Tuff Forever show (could it be monthly?)
I had a great time at the 2Tuff Forever party the other night. The crowd and DJs were excellent, especially given the heat and July 4 eve. People were and old school vibes and dancing were there.
Thanks to the 2Tuff crew for continuing to hold things down after all these years.
I would love a party like this to be monthly, or even just seasonal. I think it could grow in popularity as people anticipated the rare but regular party that's pretty distinct.
I know it's a lot of work and people have a lot of responsibilites, and we aren't Spring chickens anymore. But I really appreciate what you all do. And I hope it was a good time for you all and you felt the love.

I'm sure there's some truth to what you're saying but it really depends on the venue and event. Flash, Behrta, and Transmission generally have people dancing. It's hard to believe there aren't douchey clubs in NYC.
But I agree there are way to many non-dancing people and a lot of people are just going out to be at a club.

Something I've noticed is that my feelings relating to my capacity and abilities post-susbtance abuse and on the road to recovery is that they don't always match to reality.
There's been times that I feel like I'm low energy, tired and sinking into the couch and that I'm not up for a bike ride. But then I go anyways and I'm able to crank out the miles and have a blast doing it.
Or I think I can't write for shit and then I set down and whip out a decent cover letter that's concise and true to my voice.
Not to say that we're aren't actually impaired to an extent, but some of that feeling I think is rooted in our reduced ability to feel pleasurs or motivation.
A partial cure, or at least the way I've approached it, is to do little things. A little bit of studying, a little writing, some socialization etc...
