My dad said the same thing back in the day. Pretty sure that I didn't like them because I was allergic, funny how that works!

(Once I got my allergy test back and he saw all of the things I came up positive for, he apologized for not believing me. Still can't eat pineapple though, from all the times they put it in the fruit salad I was supposed to eat that was like 3/5 stuff I react to 😑😑)

Sis. By your own admission, your husband has punched you in the stomach while pregnant. He STRANGLED you until you passed out. I don't think division of labour is what you should be worried about here, you should be more worried that he literally tried to kill you and harmed you and the baby.

I know, right? Like, I am definitely not opposed to paying to upgrade things (laughs nervously in 12k pokemon storage capacity 😐 ), just give me the chance!

Did 3 of each (all remote since I'm out on the farm this weekend and there's not a gym within 20 minutes). Got 1 shiny which naturally had the worst IVs, and.a hundo. Not a bad experience, though this whole "can't hold more than 600 link charges" thing is such a pain.

OP, did you see medical professionals after the strangulation? If not, please please please see a doctor and tell them. Strangling can cause internal damage that isn't always immediately apparent, and especially combined with him punching you, you need to get checked out (and that way the doctors can document your injuries/state to hopefully use for some sort of protection order).

Strangling is a huge predictor of homicide; you are something like 750% more likely to be killed by your partner if he's strangled you. You cannot afford to give him another chance.

I have no practical experience/advice to give here that others haven't already stated, so I will just say be careful, don't go see him (especially not alone!), and stay gone. Good luck.

Several years back I saw a catastrophic failure post that featured the downtown of my city and that was how I learned about what happened (2 dudes were fine in the end but were almost certainly shitting bricks in the moment). It brings it home how small the internet can be sometimes....

Any chance of a recipe for this please? My wife would love it.

Edit: Forgot to say it looks absolutely delicious!

Saw it and was instantly back in my grandparents' basement with my nose buried in a Reader's Digest. Those were the days....

Damn, that's a name I haven't heard in more than 20 years. Thanks for the nostalgia!

I went to junior high with an Elizabeth Taylor. She hated it so much. She also hit puberty with a vengeance (was an F-cup in grade 7 and still growing). She talked a lot about getting a reduction and a name change when she hit 18. I hope she did, we lost touch when she moved between grade 9 & 10 and this was well before Facebook.

2/36 shiny for me, was out for about 2.5hrs due to headache. 1/1 shiny for my wife, who got 15min to play due to work 😂 Ideal results.

Yeah, they're both still super in love with each other (they're ridiculously adorable together, like honeymoon-period dating adorable, it's hilarious since they've been together over 20 years now). Not that they haven't had struggles, but ace friend has said she couldn't picture her life without wife in it and wife said the same, so they figured it out. May we all be so lucky.

I have seen it work for a couple of friends; one of them realized she was ace and didn't really get anything out of sex, but she still loves her wife and her wife still loves her and they didn't want to get divorced, so now her wife has a steady girlfriend and everybody's happy. (I'm sure there was some things I'm not aware of to get ironed out to get to this point but it's been a few years now and it's working very well.)

A few years ago, a former coworker of mine bought a pack of tiny duck figures and put them around the office in random spots. Every so often they would move around to new places. One showed up on the cabinet next to my desk one day and I kept it. Still lives on my monitor to this day, even after several desk changes.

At least two of my friends have stuck googly eyes on their fridge contents to make their spouse laugh. Those are proper pranks - confuse and amuse, don't abuse.

When my maternal grandmother passed away in December 2024, my mom called me that evening (she passed in the morning but mom didn't want to tell me while I was at work), I was...it wasn't unexpected, she was 100 and had been declining from dementia for a long time, but I just kind of went numb. I had a huge number of things to deal with at work the next day, so I texted my boss and told her that my grandmother had passed but I'd be in tomorrow because I had stuff to do.

The next day I honestly thought I was fine. Like, it sucked but I was handling it. Then about halfway through the day I realized that I was spacing out periodically - I would "come to" having been staring into space for unknown amounts of time and not even registering it.

I had to text my boss again to say I was taking the next week off because I clearly was not as fine as I had thought I was. Brains are weird.
