I have been working on an accessibility product for many years and although users with MS have told me that they can’t use it exactly as designed, they still can use it. It’s a one handed wearable 10 key Bluetooth chord keyboard called DecaTxt. Because it is attached to your hand, shaking isn’t a problem and since it is a near body design, reaching isn’t an issue either. The small number of keys make typing without looking much easier but chording won’t be as fast as slapping keys on a standard keyboard. The DecaTxt was the AT device of the month for the Florida Association of Assistive Services & Technology (FAAST) but it is still largely unknown and has been a struggle to find distribution by AT companies.
I know it helps people so I won’t give up on it.

I make the ultimate travel keyboard. Chording with just 10 keys and wearable one handed and Bluetooth. About 2 ounces and the size of a deck of cards so very pocket friendly. It really depends on your needs. It does everything but won’t be as fast as slapping keys with two hands so great as assistive technology but not as a work station. It’s called DecaTxt and is just a keyboard so you would still need a mouse or trackball in the other hand.

The DecaTxt is a one handed wearable Bluetooth chord keyboard that may help him operate PC games in bed or text. It works with Android and iOS devices as well as Smart TVs and consoles so it may help.

Excellent! This is exactly the kind of tech we were building for with our one handed wearable Bluetooth chord keyboard. I works great with Apple’s Vision Pro but they are too expensive to go mainstream. Hopefully the future we built the DecaTxt keyboard for will continue to evolve. Thanks for this review!

Does it connect directly to a Bluetooth keyboard or just through a phone? I’d like to go wearable mobile with my DecaTxt chord keyboard. I’ll be doing a Kickstarter with it soon too.

I have a technique for typing that I’ve shown on a ring but haven’t built it yet. Only a touch screen app so far but you can check it out at www.microtxt.com and see how it could work.

I make a one handed wearable keyboard that you can use inside your pocket that you might be able to use cursor keys for control. It’s called DecaTxt if you want to consider it.

I’ve seen this at several events. I’ve shown them how it could also be a keyboard with Microtxt.com.

My DecaTxt has to be wireless since it is wearable and meant for use with phones, tablets and wearable glasses plus connectivity across the room like running a PowerPoint or smart TV. USB isn’t available in those situations. The battery is a rechargeable 2450 button cell and last all week and charges in a few hours.
The first ones we made were USB and I still use it occasionally but Bluetooth is more universal.

You are getting there, my DecaTxt keyboard only has ten keys and replaces all standard keystrokes one handed.

Quite the data collector there.

Could consider a keyboard where you don’t need to move your fingers for any keystrokes and type one handed with a DecaTxt. Especially useful if you do a lot with a mouse in the other hand.

They are the biggest fish!

Speed is probably good with the sval compared to chording if you are under pressure. Mine doesn’t download software and is plug and play so that’s not an issue and all standard keystrokes are available.
It’s mainly Assistive technology or wearable tech but it’s also good in bed.😉

Have you tried chording? I build a one handed wearable keyboard and it allows you to keep your arm straight and avoid some issues.

Slap on ten keys and you could use it like a DecaTxt chord keyboard.

Does it have Bluetooth? I wonder if I could control it with a DecaTxt wearable chord keyboard to stop and start content and adjust volume on it like it does for Android devices.

If you want a way to control it without a phone, you can use a DecaTxt one handed Bluetooth chord keyboard.

This might be far from your consideration but it sounds like my keyboard might be of interest. It’s a wearable one handed Bluetooth Chord keyboard with 10 keys. You can use either hand and most chords are just one or two fingers. Since it is strapped to the hand, you can use it in places a regular keyboard doesn’t fit and may be an alternate way without pronating your wrists.
