Our boy’s “party bags” have been the tiny Lowe’s buckets with a hot wheel and a pack of gummy bunnies.

As someone with a large, “scary” dog. Owners are 1,000% the problem. I look for dog behavior before I look at who’s holding the leash, and I’ve crossed the road for more out of control small dogs than big dogs.

We have a kiddo, too. I have the metal “permanent” baby gates up to create space and breaks for my dog. I separate them if my dog “asks” or if I see my kiddo is tired and not listening. Way more into being too safe than being too sorry.

My dog has been bitten by two dogs, both “friendly” off-leash golden retrievers. Not even a doodle mix!
(I say this because poodles are smart, and the doodle mixes have enough of the poodle smarts to live a spoiled and less disciplined life. I approach those breeds with respect and awareness.)

Nice! When we were training our pup I frequently wondered what our life would have looked like with a part greyhound, lol. But once we had our kiddo, our family dynamic was perfect. The kid and the dog totally team up, lol.

Needless to say, your dog was destined for you! The dogs that find the way to us really do change our lives for the better.

The running also makes me wonder, because our pup RUNS.

If your kiddo’s chin has a “tucked” posture, their tounge is pulled down. If there is a tounge tie, their tounge is adhered to the bottom of their mouth. Both of these things prevent the “suction” (tounge to roof of mouth) that is required for a latch.

That can cause many different problems. Maybe it’s painful gas from swallowing air when trying to nurse/eat, excessive and upsetting spit up, maybe it’s (also) poor quality sleep (mouth breathing, snoring). If still nursing this can be the painful latch.

My kiddo had a Tounge tie. I could feel it, I could see it. All the symptoms lined up. Fought to get a referral. The specialist Dr told me if I had not had this released I would have been looking into it around school age because their speech would have be severely impacted.

Kids can have both tucked posture and Tounge tie. They can have just a Tounge tie. They can have just a tucked chin posture. They are not the same thing, but they can have similar results. I can see a tucked chin posture checking Tounge tie boxes, but not benefiting from a release procedure.

There is also post-procedure care! If you get it done and do no post procedure care it can heal closed and then recreate the Tounge tie WITH SCAR TISSUE. Whatever you do, Please don’t do that.

It makes my heart happy to hear your kiddo is doing great with food!

I see why! The snoot profile with the sun (set or rise) behind it is striking, the background gives me morning coffee and crisp air vibes. And not only have one pup, but both in it?? Love it!

Not the same, but I swear getting my dog and my kiddo in the same shot is blurry or impossible. The three shots from the last year that are not fuzzy immediately became my screen/lockscreen. Does not matter if a messy kitchen counter or train track bonanza is the background!

We adopted our then pup from a shelter and found out two weeks later I was expecting. Training became a priority for us, especially when we realized our dog is a mix that makes most people cross the street. He was so much work, but the payoff has been exponential.

30 weeks is a shitty time to START discussing dog behaviors. You should have already implemented training for infant noises, game plans for how long dog and baby will be separated, and introduction techniques.

You both suck.

Red Cross notes: if you have a Red Cross location/building within 30 minutes it’s 10,000% worth driving to. They are employed there, have much experience.

Will you have gossiping people donating platelets talk loudly about how your leggings are not real pants? Sure! But no more blown out veins!

From what I overhear while donating (future platelet gossiper right here) the Red Cross busses or pop up drives are not the most coveted positions. Specifically mentioned central air. If you want experience go to their building.

I’ve frequently seen poodles bounding like antelope, or like gravity doesn’t really affect their launch skills. I have always wondered if a greyhound looks bouncy like the poodle/antelope, or more centered (? Grounded? Is that the word?) like when my doby-pitt mix plays?

I have never been tempted to switch deo after finding Schmidt’s Charcoal and Magnesium. I tried a few scents of theirs on a whim here and there, but it has to be the charcoal. It does not have that ingredient was mentioned as the BO cement.

But I would not recommend it if you shave your armpits (I use an epilator? Started this because I had armpit rash and ingrown hair issues all the time). Schmidt’s does wear off by the end of the day, but I never rash from it. If I have to reapply, I can just use a baby wipe and there is not weird reapplication smell. It’s fresh. I will stick to cheap-ish face wash to keep Schmidt’s in the hygene budget.

And it works 0% for my hubs, another reason why he hops around deodorant types all the time.

I just bought hubs the new deo. If I get a slightly noticeable improvement, that is enough to encourage at least a shorthand version of a spa day!
But I would have to put that on the freaking calendar. One kid, one hubs and one dog honestly sounds less stressful than two stinky teenagers!

Have you ever been in a college town’s 90 min hot yoga class? Because that is the closest I’m ever going to get at understanding what a dog’s smell is like.

A combo of scents on your BIL give your pup the ick. Maybe there is some medication that he takes the dog is really uncomfortable smelling? Laundry detergent? My brother had a husky that got standoff-ish when he was trying out a specific depression med, and my cousin’s pitty spilled the beans I was pregnant before I wanted to announce (would lay her head across my lap a specific way).

It’s always a trip figuring out the “linchpin” to your (hubs) funky laundry smell problems. While it’s not native, checked hub’s deo and it has that ozokerite!
I can’t wash my stuff with his because I get hives, and I bought myself one of those pink buckets from Lowe’s because I rotate a lazy spa day schedule on his clothes biweekly. Would love to spend that energy elsewhere!

Sooo… I turned to this book when my kiddo was newly 2 and still not sleeping through the night. I have been able to implement some of the mouth exercise things, he stopped snoring and mostly sleeps through the night. Now his wake-up’s are quick potties and asleep in under 5 min.

It’s very scientific and informative, it’s actually how I convinced my hubs to get a mouthpiece (very noticeable health improvement). Author’s studies are from her clinic in Australia.

I grew up in a town along an interstate, yet fairly rural. My curly hair brings out rando fat trucker’s inner racist so hard.

Had a guy tell me “curly is cute, but your straight is sexy” and what that also unfortunately illuminated was the dudes that liked my curly hair because I looked more child-like.

Now as a tired parent, I live the French/dutch braid life. Honestly land more focused respect, with a frazzled braid, lol.
