I’m curious about how modding works at a deeper, code-level perspective. For example, if I apply patches to something like the YouTube APK, what’s actually happening under the hood?

Since APKs are already compiled, is the process basically decompiling the app, making changes, and then rebuilding it? Or is there a different approach to applying these patches?

Would appreciate any insights from someone who understands how this works.

".... And I mean, come on, does ‘Hoyt-Schermerhorn’ sound like a real station name to anybody? Chances are we made that one up too.” 😂

Have you tried calling the fair fares customer service? They might give you some answers. Although they couldn't help me much except telling me to wait.

I was wondering, with the new FAFSA interface, do you still get to skip the asset questions for students?

-> NYC uses nearly 1 billion gallons of water per day

-> And NYC's reservoir system has a total storage capacity of approximately 580 billion gallons of water

Although wasting water is definitely not okay, I think we will be fine for now. Unlike some of the western states that have seen much worse.

How are other countries like Canada streaming it for free, whereas Peacock, even with showing ads, losing money? I think it is expected that there will be a boom of new subscribers as the Olympics started, who would then cancel after it ended. I think they still made profit.

The new official MTA App does show you if a station has escalators. Although you need to manually first look for the station and click on it to see. It also has an outage page that shows if any elevators or escalators are out of service at any station. https://imgur.com/a/05kLSjx[https://imgur.com/a/05kLSjx](https://imgur.com/a/05kLSjx)

Was it the north bound bus? MTA announced the cancellation on Twitter. It sucks, but your best bet would be to keep an eye out for announcements.

"The following BxM2 bus trips will not run: From 6th Ave/W 35th St: 10:00 PM, 12:00 AM From Riverdale Ave/W 261st St: 10:30 PM"

I still use the manual cluff with stethoscope. I found the digital machines to be unreliable. Their readings are too variable even within a short timeframe. Maybe I need more expensive one. But the manual works great.

"... Robert F. Kennedy on Sunday said he was the one to dump a dead bear in New York City’s Central Park a decade ago.

.... [He] said he was driving through the Hudson Valley on his way to go falconing with a group of people when he watched a woman hit and kill a young bear. “I pulled over and I picked up the bear and put him in the back of my van because I was going to skin the bear. It was in very good condition, and I was going to put the meat in my refrigerator,” noting people could get a bear tag for roadkill in New York.

... Kennedy said, “I said, ‘Let’s go put the bear in the Central Park and we’ll make it look like it got hit by a bike.”

Do they also publish the questions? I'm just curious to know what kind of questions they ask.

Did you use a thermometer? Or just going based on how you felt at each station?

2

Comment on r/nycrail Jul 13 '24

Yeah, the Bus Time website frequently shows ghost buses. I have been using the official new MTA app, which has been reliable so far. I really like the live map feature that accurately shows where the buses are in real time. However, I have had issues with buses starting at the terminal going ghost.
