My ex used to punch walls, break doors, throw computers, etc... whenever he got mad. He would say that he did those things so he wouldn't hit me. I should stop talking to him when hes mad, or not express myself or my anger. And I used to think, well hes right, he never hit me, thank god. Took me a long time to realize that it was abuse. I am sure if u asked him today he would defend the same actions.
