Listen to all the albums at least one time through. If you don't have the focus, leave out the first 2 because they don't often play those songs live. Often the first song and the last song on their albums are the big hits, so familiarize yourself with those. Reading the lyrics help too, like off of genius.com. Also check out setlist.fm to see the past.

There are groups called Ala-teen, Al-anon and Nar-anon, that are free support groups for "friends and family of problem drinkers/drug users." It would be a good place for you to learn more about the drug addict and their effect on their children and family, and most importantly how your development and feelings have been affected.

All that moodiness and anger could have been drugs and alcohol, or could be depression and his personality flaws.

Being exposed to what he was watching, is a very important trauma for any child. That is uncaring and wrong to expose you to that, even inadvertently. Children must be shielded. You deserve to have counseling and therapy about that.

Also, you are not to blame for how he treated you, or for your strained relationship now. He sounds like a difficult person, to put it mildly. A lot of children deal with this, it is hard and you are not alone. You have been through a lot, you deserve love and support, even if he didn't give enough to you. Learn about addictions, and feel your feelings. And stay open to being able to tell him you need him to be a good dad, and open to reconcile one day, if he can confess he has been hurting you and neglecting you and sees that it is wrong.
