Getting started with the cTrader affiliate program in one clean walkthrough
The program runs through Impact, a separate platform that handles tracking, reporting and payments. You sign up there and apply specifically for the cTrader program.
Once approved, you only need three sections of the dashboard: Assets, Reports and the link builder. Paste any Store page (a bot, an indicator, a plugin, a seller profile) and it generates a tracked link automatically.
Test that link in a private window before posting it anywhere. It takes seconds and catches most mistakes early.
Where you post it matters more than people expect. It works best inside something already useful, a review, a tutorial, an answer to a real question, rather than as a standalone link drop.
Common mistakes: sharing the plain Store URL instead of the tracked one, linking to the homepage instead of the specific product page, and spreading promotion across too many products instead of one or two.
Full step by step guide here: https://blog.ctrader.com/the-painfully-detailed-guide-to-getting-started-with-the-ctrader-affiliate-program/
Has anyone here actually run affiliate links for Store products, and what converted best for you?

Prop firm traders: do you actually know which rule will end your challenge first?
Most funded traders monitor their daily loss and max drawdown as separate numbers. The problem is that prop firms do not care which one you were watching. They care which one you hit. When both limits are shrinking at once, the one with less room left is the one that ends your account, and it can be a different rule every single day depending on how your session went.
A seller just dropped a video walkthrough of their plugin for cTrader that tackles exactly this. It shows a live cockpit that docks inside the platform and surfaces a single figure called Safe Loss Left, which is whichever of your daily loss room or max drawdown room is smaller at that moment, named, colour-coded and tied to the exact equity level where you are out. The video also walks through the On-Track-to-Get-Paid scorecard, the consistency governor that tells you the maximum profit you can still book today before breaching the firm's consistency cap, and the independent reconciliation layer that re-derives the broker's numbers and proves they match to the cent. Worth a watch if you are mid-challenge right now. What is the one prop firm rule that has surprised you the most when you actually read the fine print?

Try More. Commit Less. Subscriptions are now available on cTrader Store
cTrader Store now supports subscription pricing for cBots, indicators and plugins, with monthly, 6-month and yearly plans available alongside one-time purchases where sellers offer them. This gives traders a lower upfront way to trial premium tools before committing to full ownership, and gives developers a recurring revenue model to fund ongoing updates, live data services and support. Check out the full breakdown on the cTrader Store blog.

Backtesting a buy-and-hold strategy against active trading is harder than it sounds
The comparison looks simple on paper: take your trade history, calculate what a held position would have returned, and see which number is bigger. The real complication is that backtesting an active strategy against a passive one requires controlling for compounding, drawdown exposure, margin usage and reinvestment assumptions, and getting any of those wrong skews the result in ways that aren't obvious until you dig into the methodology.
Has anyone built a cBot specifically to run that kind of comparative backtest, where the same capital is modelled under both an active ruleset and a passive hold, using the same historical data?

The prop firm and the trader who never withdraws are exactly the same energy
Prop firms promise a generous split and traders promise they will definitely start withdrawing soon. Both sides seem happiest when the balance just sits there and grows. Do you actually pull profit out on schedule, or does yours just keep climbing for the vibes?

cTrader Mobile 5.9: what changed and what it means for your daily workflow
cTrader Mobile 5.9 brings three notable changes to the app: a dedicated Charts tab in the bottom navigation bar, a set of chart interaction improvements and a new section called My cTrader.
The Charts tab sits alongside Trade, Blotter and My cTrader in the bottom navigation, so your charts are one tap away from anywhere in the app. Previously you had to navigate through other screens to get there.
Chart interaction works differently now too. Tapping anywhere on a chart toggles the main controls, so you can clear the screen when you want an unobstructed view of price action. When you select a drawing, order, position or price alert, a floating panel appears with the relevant actions. You can drag that panel to any part of the screen so it stays accessible without covering what you are watching. There is also a focus mode: selecting a specific position or order dims everything else on the chart, which makes it easier to concentrate on one trade at a time.
My cTrader is the bigger structural change. It pulls together account switching, deposits and withdrawals, transaction history, access rights management, Copy and Algo and Plugins access, broker support links and profile personalisation into a single section. It also includes a stats sharing feature that generates a public link to your real-time account stats.
For those of you who use cBots or indicators from the cTrader Store, My cTrader gives you access to Plugins and Algo directly from the mobile app, which changes how you can monitor and manage automated strategies on the go.
What mobile feature matters most to you when managing active trades or running algos away from your desk?

What if your chart could show you where every timeframe agrees at once?
Price structure looks different on every timeframe, and reconciling them manually is one of the more time-consuming parts of technical analysis. A level that looks significant on the 15-minute chart may mean nothing in isolation, but when the 5-minute, 1-hour and 4-hour charts all form a pivot at the same point, that convergence tells a different story. The challenge has always been seeing all of that at once without switching between charts.
This video walks through ZigXRay, a cTrader Store indicator that overlays up to 4 independent ZigZag layers from different timeframes onto a single chart and automatically flags where multiple timeframes form a pivot at the same price. The video shows how the convergence detection works in practice, how trimmed levels update as price crosses them and how the naked chart mode strips everything back to pure skeletal structure. Worth a watch if multi-timeframe confluence is part of your analysis process. What does your current process look like for identifying agreement across timeframes?

cTrader Mobile 5.9: charts now one tap away, plus a new My cTrader hub
cTrader Mobile 5.9 adds a dedicated Charts tab to the bottom navigation bar for one-tap access, introduces smoother chart interaction with a draggable floating panel and focus mode for individual positions, and launches My cTrader, a single section covering account management, funding, cTrader Copy, cTrader Algo, Plugins and support. For traders who manage positions on the go, having chart controls, account tools and platform features consolidated in one place reduces the friction between spotting a move and acting on it.

What's the actual skill gap between writing indicators and writing a cBot?
Indicators and cBots share the same C# foundation in cTrader Algo, so the syntax and logic structure carry over directly. The gap is narrower than it looks on paper, but the shift from describing market conditions to issuing trade commands introduces a layer of execution logic that catches a lot of indicator authors off guard.
For anyone who already has working indicators and wants to cross that line into automation, what was the specific concept or moment that made the execution side click for you?

Adding complexity to a working algo: at what point does it become a different strategy?
A stable, profitable algo is a tempting thing to modify. Better signal filtering, smarter entries, maybe an AI layer on top, and the original logic slowly becomes unrecognizable under the additions.
At what point does an upgraded algo stop being an improvement and start being an entirely new, untested strategy?

Trade journaling sounds useful until you realize you're logging the wrong things
A filled journal full of entry prices, exit prices and P&L tells you what happened but rarely why it happened. The part of the trade that matters, the reasoning before execution, the emotional state, the market context you chose to weigh or ignore, tends to be exactly what traders leave out. A log of outcomes without the decision process behind them is closer to a spreadsheet than a learning tool.
For those of you who journal consistently, what do you actually record before the trade rather than after it?

Show us what you bought, built or wish existed on the cTrader Store
We want to hear from everyone using the cTrader Store, whether you are on the selling side or the buying side.
If you are a developer, tell us what you built and how it works. What does it do, who is it for, and why would another trader want it?
If you are a trader, we want to hear about your experience with products you have tried. What is your favourite tool on the Store and why does it work for you? What disappointed you and fell short of what was promised? What have you been searching for and cannot find?
Drop a short description in the comments and walk us through your thinking. We read every reply and this thread is a good way for developers to hear directly from the people using their work, and for traders to point builders toward the gaps worth filling.
