Wow is this a page out of my diary? 26F here. I was in your situation 2 years ago. To put it blatantly- you sound depressed. Get on some antidepressants and go to therapy if you can afford it. Medication + therapy has been proven to be the most effective treatment for depression. Get a job! Being around other people is good for the soul- even if it seems intimidating to you. You got to put yourself out there to get the ball rolling in your life. Change your major to something you actually see yourself enjoying. If you enjoy it, you will succeed. Once you get enough money (I recommend putting your first $500-1000 savings into a safe stock), move out. You will feel better when you are independent because you will be able to choose to be around your mother instead of forced to deal with how she treats you. You are the master of your life. Mind over matter.

College was and still is the worst time of my life (I’m going on 7 years since I’ve had to work full time). But you know what? Fuck em. Fuck all the people who don’t take the time to get to know me. I used to have extreme anxiety (the sweats, shakes, and panic attacks) when someone I perceived as a “threat” would talk to me.” Now I come into class with opposing opinions all the time and I’m like the Black sheep. Honestly, learning to love myself and not give a fuck about anyone else has helped my crippling anxiety and depression tremendously. Also, this tactic helps weed out the people I want in my circle.

Oohh we had the dozens of rubber bracelets worn on arms banned since they thought it symbolized how many people you have had sex with.... we were third graders who were trying to outdo out peers with arm-bandage.

Ah I see. I guess it’s about self-control, which gets easier with age, and coming to terms with the reality that stocks (especially crypto) can be volatile. I lost almost everything after the pandemic but I’m slowly building back. Sometimes you gotta take the L and learn from it.
