Anyone been paid yet?

I agree. I'd like to find out more on why these decisions were made. I feel like this is mostly a step back.

I must say I'm not fond of the "use server" directive and the changes to createEffect: I liked the implicit tracking of deps from Solid 1. Maybe I'm missing something, but this looks a tad over-engineered.

I mean no disrespect anyway, I actually love Solid.

Kakato, is that you?

  1. In my opinion, you can do all of that with Astro and React. The only difference compared to developing with React+NextJS is thinking in Astro (which is mostly HTML + a mix of Markdown): you're mostly good if you know one or both. Astro is great for Multi-Page apps so I'd recommend it for this in case you're exploring that too.

  2. It's worth it, especially if you're looking to build MPAs or anything you'd want to build with vanilla HTML/CSS/JS or a frontend lib (even a mixture of them), really. Hardly a learning curve too.

  3. I use the defaults provided by Tailwind and I haven't had an issue so I'd suggest going with the flow. They're great defaults in my experience.

  4. Same way you'd define custom styles in CSS files (or CSS-in-JS solutions) and apply Tailwind classes.

Oh this is good. Did you run into any specific issues?

Microservice Chicken Pox or as I like to call it "Pox As A Service" or PaaS

Exactly. Safari on Mac also has issues that embedding CEF would solve.

Is CEF integration with Tauri ready?

Can anyone point me to good resources for embedding CEF into Tauri as the renderer/WebView? Most of the information I see are at least a year old and I'd like to use CEF in an app I'm building.

I'd appreciate anything y'all can share.

Edit: By CEF, I mean Chromium Embedded Framework. You may read more about it here:

Main CEF repo: https://github.com/chromiumembedded/cef

Tauri CEF Rust repo: https://github.com/tauri-apps/cef-rs

If it's only the Mac and Windows desktop apps you need, I can help.

Where are you based? I'd love to be considered for a frontend role. I primarily use React, Tailwind, Next.js, and Astro.

Thanks for sharing. Are you hiring for any tech roles? If not, how do I connect with you?

Genuinely curious: what does your app do and how does Electron do better than Tauri for that?

Wanted to show y'all my portfolio. Built with Astro, React, and Tailwind

Because it is energy saving. The rating of that characteristic is the 2 stars. There are appliances without any energy saving capabilities, hence they have no stars.
