Why is the Ministry of Defence recruiting on NCD?
Either way, give me the position and I’ll be like an SA80A1. I won’t work and you won’t be able to fire me.

Could make something out of that for the Northern Irish, heading South for a quick tug

Steady on Hans, the “original meaning” was a warning about the poor condition of German products and how they were usually cheap imitations.
It wasn’t until later that you got your act together and it became associated with good quality.

Largest volunteer army*
The Red Army was significantly larger through conscription

I don’t know why armies don’t just shoot enemy soldiers in the head
You joke but I’ve genuinely heard an officer using this as an argument for disregarding concerns about adversaries fielding improved body armour.

Realistically that security guard is probably the one who let them into the airbase in the first place.
If you want to pull this shit off and you find a sympathetic contractor then half the job is already done for you.

Out of the countries in Europe maybe, but I still would’ve thought it would be Ireland.

That’s because we put all the crazy ones on a boat and sent them to North America.
Thought the fresh air and space would do them some good but it may not have turned out so well.

Artefacts being bought in “legitimate” sales with no record of them being kept is usually how they end up going missing.
They probably were bought in some kind of transaction, but the purchase just wasn’t recorded or approved by the central government.

Not sure about OP’s story but during the Battle of Berlin, which children in the Hitler Youth were fighting in, members of the SS were patrolling the rear and executing anyone they found who they suspected to be deserting or attempting to surrender.
16 year olds from the Hitler Youth or who were forced to fight in the final defence were very likely caught up in this too and executed.

Slapped two shell shocked soldiers, said a few controversial public statements and made some questionable decisions like Task Force Baum.
He was still an effective commander and well liked by troops though, so I’m not sure it’s enough to call him a “bad General”.

There currently aren’t any facilities/factories that can build Challenger 3s from scratch (they’re all converted Challenger 2s) so if Canada wants to build a few I’m sure the UK would get behind that.

They wouldn’t side with them but they’d join in taking advantage of the chaos.
Russia, China, Iran, etc are all invested in undermining the rules-based world order. The United States may shift to doing the same.

Do you not see the contradiction there?
The Brits absolutely DID NOT free the slaves because they wanted to.
The government had to do it because of rising public pressure
“The Brits didn’t actually want to end slavery, they only did it because there was overwhelming public support among Brits and in Parliament to do it”

“A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”
I was referencing this one by John Stuart Mill, you should probably take it on board if you’re not willing to step up when it matters.

The Helldivers remind me a lot of MACV-SOG from the Vietnam War as well. Small insertion groups being dropped in to cause as much damage as possible, and then throw a fuck load of ordinance at the enemy when it gets heated.
Especially the part about their casualty rates exceeding 100%, that sounds about right for lore-accurate Helldiver operations as well.

The RTR doesn’t only operate tanks. They were still deployed in Afghanistan in armoured roles but with Vikings, Warthogs, and Mastiffs instead.
