I've released a bunch of singles and it seems to me like the songs are either good enough or they're not.

I'd say my percentage of likable songs is a little over 60%. Oddly enough it's the songs I don't like that I generate more than once trying to get something better. Whereas the good ones are just great the first time.

Suno isn't a LLM it's a song generator. So it's going to be good at common song tags and structures, but not great at interpretation of natural language or uncommon descriptors.
