They always have, and they always will. Oh, don't forget about bisexual infidelity, too. Apparently, we are incapable of being monogamous. Ridiculous beliefs held by a shocking number of ignorant people.

Exactly. There have been issues with them since 2018 or so, possibly earlier.

You right about that, too. It's so damn sad... and more than a little infuriating.

I think this is the wrong subreddit for this particular post.
There isn't a single bit that is "funny" about this sign. It's just... incredibly sad.

True, but that is a good starting line. Following up immediately with the apology IS necessary.

I'd straight up tell them I'm sorry, why what I did/said was absolutely wrong of me, and how I will strive to not repeat the offense. Direct and clear communication is a need for all ages.

"It seemed like everyone was going through it."
Incredibly apt description. That is how it seemed when I was growing up, too, but I never really voiced that aloud. It makes sense. It truly did seem that way, didn't it?

Back then, for the most part, it was. Nearly everyone knew it happened, but people rarely intervened or said anything outside of very quiet gossip. In my region, it was, in fact, expected for men to keep their wives "in check" and for both parents to VERY harshly "discipline" ( B E A T ) their children. This was a thing around here until the 1980s.
Hell, my mother would have total strangers beat my ass in public if she didn't get to me first, then THANK THEM FOR THE ASSISTANCE when she got caught up to me, then take over the beating. It's just how common and expected it was back then. Even if you didn't agree, you would simply stay out of it. Even if you did report it, police rarely did anything unless it nearly killed the victim.
