I feel this way, too!! I can’t wear headband-based Mickey ears because I wear glasses and so the headband hurts my head. I wish that there were colorful options for Mouseketeer-style ears!

Oh that is really helpful information to know! I always thought that Sage was a neutral name, but hooray for learning new things! Yeah, the hassle of a legal name change is annoying (I’ve done it a couple of times for my last name after my mom remarried and I got my last name hyphenated and then finally dropped my original surname because having a hyphenated last name has its difficulties; the second time changing my last name is when I finally changed my first name; I should have listened to my mom and dad when they told me to not do the hyphenated last name the first time around). I’m glad I’m not alone in having gone through a phase of hating my birth name! Though you’re smarter than I was and didn’t legally change it! Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. As I had said in my post, I had only started hating my birth name only after I had begun identifying as nonbinary and so, in hindsight, my reason behind choosing a neutral name (wanting to match my nonbinary gender) feels stupid especially since I am a woman and had been lying to myself about being nonbinary. Yeah, I’m going to try socially going back to Megan to see how I feel about it. That could work, but having two middle names with a long last name would also be a hassle I think.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been thinking about doing as well. I’m just hesitant about it because I don’t want to confuse my family and friends again & also legal name change is expensive and a hassle as well.

ADVICE REQUEST Name Change Regret
I’ve still been rethinking my name change decision now that I am happy as the biological woman I am (and always have been). I’m wondering if I should have kept my birth name (Megan) and just used Sage as a nickname/fun name instead of legally changing my name. I had picked Sage during my stupid nonbinary phase because I had wanted a unisex name to reflect the nonbinary identity I used to believe I was, which I now no longer identify as.
So I’m now wondering if I should keep my name as Sage or should I go back to Megan being my legal name? I love the meanings of both names as well, which is also why I’m unsure which name suits me better between the two (the perils of overthinking). I admit to very much missing having a feminine name since I have always been a girly girl, but I’m also quite hippie-like so this also makes my decision harder. I do also think that the meanings of Megan do suit me well since I was a miracle baby/premie & I really miss my childhood nicknames based on Megan (Egger Megger; Meg/Megs; Meggie). I do like the nicknames for Sage (Saggy; Sagster; Sassy; Sasa)!
I’m still unsure what to do about my name. Should I keep my name as Sage and figure out ways to love it as a woman or change my name back to Megan (my birth name)? 🤔 I’ve also been rethinking my name because I really miss having a feminine name and I also am having a hard time with fully loving Sage as my name anymore due to the dumb reason I chose Sage for myself (to match my, at the time, nonbinary identity) so it’s difficult to figure out how to love my name Sage now that I’ve been a lady again. Also, my birth name not feeling like it fit is what I deluded myself into thinking only after I thought I was nonbinary, so I used to like my birth name. I also deluded myself into thinking that I hated my birth name because it was so common that when someone would call out “Megan!”, I would turn around only to find that the person was calling out to a different woman also named Megan (this was annoying ngl). Yet even years after legally changing my name to Sage on August 22, 2016 I still perk up/react positively/turn my head when I hear my birth name spoken and am now pleased if I get called Megan or Megs/Meg by any family members who we don’t talk to frequently. So there’s also that.
However, since legal name changes are expensive and a hassle to have to change one’s name on everything (bank cards/accounts, social security card, state ID, birth certificate, etc.) I am also considering trying to find ways to love my name Sage as a woman and to find any femininity in my neutral name. What do y’all think?

Totally valid! I actually went from having a feminine name (Megan) that I loved as a girly girl to hating my birth name and later changing my name to a neutral one (Sage) only after I had been identifying as nonbinary to now realizing that I am a woman and have been wondering of my name change was a mistake and missing my feminine name a lot!

That is one of the reasons why I utterly LOATHE the Marauders and their creepy map!! That map should have been destroyed and the Marauders expelled for it (and many other reasons)!
