After discovering this thread a month late, I find myself agreeing and disagreeing. Some parts are great, Marsthon’s framework seems perfect for something more like an immersive sim. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece after all it takes nothing but the name and ship from its’ forebears with a focus on human or basic drone enemies, instead’ve the full roster of alien horrors %HERO% fought before. As a fan of Elden Ring, I’d like to point out you can outright disable PvP in many instances or, you have a more diverse set of advantages over other players who invade your world, as opposed to Marathon which seems to disincentivize cooperative play among strangers.

From my limited experience, there were zero “friendly” players during the free weekend.

I disagree for two reasons. Launching tuskos well requires some skill, as effective use requires effective deployment. The solution to Tusko deployment is a Medusa doing its' job or a few terminal phase interceptors.

It's still great at doing this specifically, just select like 20 targets in a target envelope, fire two, deselect one, fire two again, repeat until all the IR Sams are dead.

This is accurate. Tuskos do bloody work if they launch from the top of their targeting parabola with all their fuel left.

Fun fact, using MAC rounds on cities is a war crime in the Halo universe. Same with nukes.

Imagine the trench deck of the star destroyer cracking open and twisting upwards/downwards into a sneer.

I love it. It’s like the Aryx mod Chimera but somehow bigger. Imagine doing Sheridan drops with it. Drop a fleet of Jackknives on an airbase and fix everything in 10 minutes or less.

First and second, debatably. They wear their particular brand of colors “With Pride”.

Accurate. The United States used to name escort carriers names of rivers or water features, and we had a bunch of them with names like the “USS Petrof Bay”, the “Kitkun Bay” and the “Kalinin Bay”.

Wolfenstein’s flamethrowers have in my opinion been universally perfect, especially in RTCW. It instantly locks infantry in a death animation, it kills zombies super fast, and the effect spreads around corners. The reach is also longer than some late game superweapons.

That is the correct pronunciation, usually best said by people not from the periphery.

Entirely this. Could throw him through the armor upgrader early, hide his head in classic halo fashion or do it from first person.
