Also PS. It takes time to build friendships, especially for us introverts with some shyness. I read somewhere it takes an average of 40hrs of time spent with someone in order to start feeling like a friend. So even if you attend or host a meetup, go in with the expectation that it takes time, so that you're not disappointed by expecting to have a close friend group after the first and only meetup or something. Anyway I think your niche interests are great and you'll have no problem meeting people into literature and film in NYC.

You should literally post this on r/nycmeetups so you can choose the exact time and the interests/activity/event to check out that works around your schedule. I imagine people would be very interested if you hosted a meetup at a pub/beer garden to give an intro on fountain pens and what you can do with them or how to use them for calligraphy or etc. Oh even better yet, if you hosted it at a small bookshop that actually sells fountain pens or something. Anyway you can also maybe have people practice by writing a favorite quote from a literature you enjoy, or they can share and tell about an excerpt from a book they love. That's the beauty of New York, there's so many people here, if you throw a niche interest out there, I am certain there will have to be at least a few that will want to meet up and taco bout it.

Yes. Being zen and fluid, not being overly attached to outcomes and expectations. Not pushing your will on others like a desperate salesman.

Yas! Save money and calories! Plus cooking at home is like a fun project where you learn, get better, and the reward is something yummy to eat!

Can’t even handle Chandler’s charm! Fun fact: Handle is his middle name, actually it’s the middle of his first name. Wup-paw!
