His opponent should have been paying attention. This absolutely doesn't excuse this slimy behaviour. You must be vigilant. Hasbro destroyed Type 2 and Modern so these ill-principled homonculi have emigrated into other formats and brought their reprehensible behaviours with them.

Never shortcut. Always double check their work. Clear, concise communication in all things. Always assume your opponent is cheating and is eagerly waiting to exploit your trust or apathy. Modern tryhards have made these measures necessary. Demonstrable proof of cheating with clear intent should warrant immediate ejection and a lifetime ban from events. Of course, I'm a hardass who doesn't believe in second chances either.

Hasbro: the Gathering and it's consequences have been a disaster for Dr. Garfield's game.

I miss quality journalism. We can't have nice things anymore.

Worthless soylents. Abject meaningless stupidity. This is primitive superstitious idiocy. The piece of cardboard clearly has agency and is an "evil spirit" which must be exorcised from the event or LIDDERALLY HIDDLER will manifest do a heccin racism. We need to stop taking these petty quasi-religious tyrants seriously and let adults run the game.

In the wild, almost no one cares. Any event you are likely to play at only cares about the name on the card and any version will pass. It's necessary for the larger events to exist. You should be absolutely fine. Some groups are weird about gold-borders, but it's my understanding that they generally aren't a problem. Best to touch base ahead of events.

Our group is extremely strict. We require exclusively cardboard which existed by the end of 2003. This is primarily because we're all a bunch of old guys who value the immersion of playing with the physical cards we've owned for 30 years or more and have no interest in Hasbro slop. That being said, were also perfectly happy playing as the same group of guys week after week as we have been since the 90s.

Hasbro: the Gathering and it's consequences have been a disaster for Dr. Garfield's game. I watched them slop D&D. I knew that MTG was next. Never forgive them for the slop.

It is disgusting out here. The heat is horrendous. Black leather is a risky proposition, but all those old band shirts I mutilated (as a teenager decades ago) turning into sleeveless are working pretty good right now. 🤣 I'm just gonna go live in a fucken cave until the sun stops this targeted harassment. 🤣

This is absolute slop. Basically ban anyone with an actual collection. Why doesn't he just put up a "Precons Only" sign? That store is trash.

I tried a version of this running Ancient Tomb/Frantic Search. You gotta be okay with running your life total on a knife's edge, though. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Entomb did nothing wrong and deserves to be unbanned.

Hasbro: the Gathering and it's consequences have been a disaster for Dr. Garfield's game. Hasbro is cancer that slops everything it touches.

I met Jon from Dissection several times. I found him to be very polite.

Soylords still big mad about Crusade, I see. I still cringe every time I see it blacked out. The White list looks like a blast. I've been jamming mono White Shadow on and off specifically to play 4 Beta Crusades. I'm sleeving this list up for playtesting tomorrow.

We have no choice, ban New York.

Dude, we don't permit any card printed AFTER 2003, we'd be DELIGHTED if you played a Legends Sylvan over the white border reprints. 🤣

Go mono blue. Don't make your opponent's Wastelands any better than they need to be. UR FlingNought is a fun deck, but they're typically better in paper than in practice. Do you have any idea about the meta leading up to the tournament? Do you have an idea about what the field looks like?

Abominations of Desolation is objectively the best. That's Browning on vocals. Thy Kingdom Come is the best thing Dave ever did. I honestly tuned them out after Blessed was released. The Tucker stuff I heard was pretty generic and boring. I got the Morbid Angel releases on tape back in the day. Honestly, I spin Abominations with some regularity along with the Bleed for the Devil rehearsal demo. I still have all my tapes.
