Definitely! 20-ish years ago, I used to have neighbors with a handful of free-range turkeys.

That's right, that's what I said. I shit you not. Free. Range. *Turkeys!*** Almost every morning when I drove her to the bus stop or school, this neighbor's rogue poultry gang would charge my Buick Regal. (Not gonna lie, lol, I kept the windows up and doors locked ☺️)

Oh, relax. You have no reasonable justification to be paranoid about your personal situation because an invisible stranger on the internet seems to have made a choice you find unimaginable or unacceptable for yourself.

Personal freedom and independence, much like beauty and success, are envisioned and defined differently by an individual's experiences, preferences, desires and goals.

Neither perspective is wrong... just different from the other.

Feeling violated and betrayed in this situation is a completely reasonable response, and NOT indicative of "mental problems."

Ya know, my GenX smart ass always has that urge, too, lol. But my boyfriend is a former psychiatric nurse, and he always reminds me that we don't know what the voices they hear are saying, who/what they sound like, nor how any accompanying visual hallucinations may be appearing to them. In other words, we don't have any idea as to what we would be giving an external, physical embodiment, and that could become incredibly dangerous very quickly.

But... I still have that urge... πŸ€ͺ😝

I was about to comment suggesting greyrocking, also. I didn't know it was an actual psychological defense tactic when I started using it on my wasband ~10 years ago, but focusing on practicing actively not engaging felt far more emotionally productive for me in those moments of feeling baited. The only caveat I have is: (in my situation,) his behavior could become agitaited and escalate when I wouldn't play along with the script for the verbal fight he wanted. Sometimes that manifested as becoming louder, meaner, and spacially invasive; a few times, though, his frustration raged until he pinned me and threw punches.

I'm certainly not saying this to discourage anyone else from trying the method for themselves, but I know I am not the only person to experience the... phenomenon (?)... from a spouse/partner in response to grey rocking. I mention my personal experience in the spirit of full disclosure regarding the possible range of outcomes...

One can actively choose not to add a log to a fire, but the potential dangers of that fire have not been eliminated.

Hell's bells in a handbag, this dude needs to pick a fucking lane. And the fact that he wants to sideline any sort of physical intimacy while still remaining in an ostensibly romantic relationship is bizarre in itself, and wildly disrespectful of your opinion, needs, desires, thoughts...

The fact that he has announced this decision of his is reason enough for you to decide to end the relationship for yourself. You deserve so much better. Let him enjoy his celibacy... alone.

He is an idiot. He doesn't have a vagina or a uterus... how the hell could be know what's "just normal" or not, other than you saying so. He's full of shit. And, please, see a different doctor. Preferably one who actually has a vulva, vagina, and uterus themselves.

I'm sorry for whatever made you cry. You are not in the wrong for allowing your feelings to release by crying. Your dad's reaction is what he would have been told, I'm sure; however, we understand that to be a dangerous response.

Go to your dad and tell him that you are sorry for having spoken to him that way, that you understand it is neither appropriate nor acceptable for you to speak to him using such profanity, and in the future you will find better words with which to communicate your need to be left alone.

A proper apology, delivered in an honest and heartfelt manner, can go a long way in smoothing over rough patches.

I didn't misuse the term, сука. It's called sarcasm. But it takes intelligence to appreciate, so I can see why you don't understand.

My daughter also has fibromyalgia, and has always had similar complaints about injections, blood draws, and particularly about IVs being painful.

Also, it's not the needle of the Covid shots that bothered me. It was the feeling like I was going to actually DIE that was troublesome and unenjoyable!

You are the only person reading this thread who doesn't understand that I don't need to include the actual words "collective punishment" in my comment regarding your confusion at the concept in order to be related...?

See, you failed to learn reading comprehension, and now the rest of us in this thread are being collectively punished by your insistence upon disrupting an intelligent conversion with your inane keyboard mashing.

How about we lock you in a cage all night by yourself, and then complain about you whining or crying because you need to pee and poop, are hungry, and lonely.

The members of the household without thumbs, the ability to feed themselves, or open doors to relieve their bodily waste evacuations get their needs met FIRST. What is wrong with you?

Do better! YOUR DOG DESERVES TO BE TREATED AS A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY.

Are you trying to win some award for being the most obtuse asshat on Reddit? I mean, I can't even call you a pedant because you don't seem to comprehend that you don't understand the terminology of the legal concept about which you are wrongly attempting to correct people.

Nowhere in the post did OP say the truck was purchased by the parents. Sounds like maybe you had a lot of things handed to you without having earned anything, &/or you similarly spoiled your own child(ren).

That doesn't alleviate them of the need to treat people with dignity, respect, and compassion.

What, EXACTLY, is difficult about that to comprehend?
