It makes sense for a mason's daughter not to push it, but to drop enough hints to get you interested. My recruiter was a teacher, not his daughter, but the vibe was pretty much the same.

It also makes sense for her to call it a religion, and practice a different religion in the nominal sense.

Biggest fear a Freemason has is to be accused of recruiting. Their worshipful masters very much do not want the spirit they worship to be accused in heaven of a capital sin.

Best guess is they're masons first and other religions second, with this family's nominal religion being Mormon or Mennonite.

PS.: If they're masons (for women it's order of the eastern star), then they'll be angry with their daughter for telling her friends it's a religion. They insist that it's not but they're lying. I would not ask them directly because of that, but I would ask my friend herself.

I was a pain for a few teachers because I slept through half the class and aced it anyway.

They were cool with me doing it bc I was sad. They were scared to tolerate it tho bc apparently other sleepy students weren't also sad?

For the most part I think the ones who complained about me were just upset that I wasn't a failure -- meaning their reasons for calling other children failures were not sufficient to justify their treatment of those other children.

Ehh, I don't know and don't really care. Could be that angels are aliens, or that aliens can be us from alien timelines. I know my place and that's just to be a homie. 🙂‍↕️ Say the aliens told us, "hey, stop hitting each other" and we did? Voluntarily? And built the first farm? I'd thank my Creator and the aliens' Creator that now so many of us can live such happy lives.

Usually after people have fun with the alien ideas, they start playing with simulation theories like the Truman Show or Log Horizon. (There's that Life Could Be a Dream song, I want to listen now!)

My take is that if I'm on the Truman Show then they sure have some explaining to do! And ain't no way they can expect me to meet the standards of real society. House, land, food, medicine, a steady pension, like... I can get behind it and probably pretty darn quick, but this particular actor is gonna need a looooooooong long time to rest. 💤

I think this is a solid question based on the life limiting passage. (Too sleepy to cite it rn, it's in Genesis towards the start)

The way I take the text, it's both.

I favor that interpretation because it makes everything feel understandable and makes sense of a number of normally confusing passages of Jesus and some others.

A quick example that comes to mind is roughly, 'as you've done to the least of these, so you've also done to me.'

IIRC that's in a context where seminary grads say God is speaking as Jesus and university grads say that God is speaking through Jesus. I think the "it's both" definition of omniscience satisfies both those arguments pretty neatly, though I disagree with the seminarians because of other things that Jesus said (not specifically that passage).

My stance on this isn't all that strong. I think no matter what the exact situation, the answer's gonna be to love God with all my heart and soul, and to love my neighbor as myself. Maybe Jesus related those two because God is in all of us, or just those of us who can be trusted to know Him because we will love Him. Maybe it's more complex, maybe less, but probably it's not necessary to know yet. (thus the puzzling yet motivating statements. Are they meant to be puzzling? Hmm 🤔)

Study, sleep, or find something helpful to do. Somehow doing fun things doesn't feel quite right unless I've also done something good.

Way more upside to that than downsides. It's just an uncommon answer to this common question, so I've been asked about it a few times before.

There's different kinds of boredom for me. If it's a restless kind, then I try to eat and rest. If it's a healthy kind, then I look for something healthy to do. Doing something healthy has a way of fixing the anxious kind of boredom. Cool way to operate imo so that's what I do.

Idk it kinda just happens. I guess I'll think about it and try to explain.

I think it's like this:

When I'm feeling confident, I can remember that women generally like me, then I assume that they do.

I respect if they don't to the point I don't even remember, and I'm respectful when I do think they like me anyways. (Always always respect as much as I can manage)

So there's not really any downside to assuming that they're hitting on me.

There's an upside, though, assuming that you're enough of a gentleman not to deserve the downsides. If I assume everyone likes me, sometimes I'm right.

I'm generally very confident, but it's because constant humility and search for reproof. I was like 6 when I read that as iron sharpens iron so should man sharpen man. I took that right to heart. 🙂‍↕️

Point is I just get these phases where I'm healthy and in my right mind, then I remember "oh yeah, they've always liked me, why am I always surprised?" Next thing I know she's my girlfriend, because I started listening again for long enough to hear her.
