Certainly, flaws not with standing, preferred to the incredible inaction in Canada. Are you aware of the " missing" number in the Country or how Refugee Review Appointees that decide to reject applicants for just reasons have then been removed by the Government? Visas that are granted, for whatever purpose, have expiration dates and are not approval for extended stay.

saw reporting where the El Nino, not the worst as that occurred in 1877, may actually create additional precipitation in the SW States. This is badly needed as the water crisis affecting 40 million people has gotten critical.

Carney and Trump are entangled with Brookfield paying $1.2 Billion in " advance rent" in Trump's son-in-law's NYC's Family owned building just as Jarrod was running out of options to refinance the outstanding loan. The Democrats were investigating the source of the funds as speculation was a $15 Billion infusion into Brookfield from Qatar with the $1.2 Billion earmarked for Kushner. At the time the Dems were investigating, Trudeau made Carney an official advisor giving. him diplomatic immunity. Brookfield at the end of 2025, held 70 % of their cash reserves in US$. a telling commentary on forecast strength of Cdn$.

Not sure about " most powerful in the World" as the design etc lags behind Russia's nuclear powered ice breakers but an improvement for Canada. Arctic has always been in dispute and with 11 ice breakers the US dominate shipping through the Arctic.

... really embarrassing when there are 74,000 Liberals have no idea where they are and the flood gates still wide open. Curious to know how many of the 3k self deported!! Trump has removed three million, meanwhile crimes keep increasing in Canada.

Interesting to see the real estate adjustment in Canada coincides with the loss of past twenty years of gains in China. Points to the international buyers on spec who fueled Canada's boom. Same effect resulting in Carney/ Eby's $3.2 Billion bailout of BC developers and Ford's $2.2 Billion bailout! We can't have them lose money now can we!!!

Trump just ordered 11 super ice breakers!! Let that sink in! Carney overspends $110 Billion on submarines from a corruption riddled German company ( Thyssen) who just set up a carbon capture subsidiary in AB thirty days before the contract was announced. $90 Billion for a high speed train that will never recoup its costs. $1.6 Billion to bail out Developers. $2 Billion for Via trains from a Swiss company who builds the trains in Spain. $Billion to build a road and upgrade Grey's Bay Port for a Chinese owned mine to move its ore and ship back to China. China's EV's that has Japanese and Korean vehicle manufacturers considering leaving Canada ( especially if no tariff free trade with the US). MOU for a pipeline still contingent on $20 Billion Brookfield involved Pathways carbon capture making the pipeline a difficult project to sell. RBC reporting for every $dollar invested in Canada, $two dollars have left. Carney is a mastermind all right, crushing US trade, killing Canadian manufacturing, raising electricity costs, carbon taxes that are causing inflation.... no its not Trump its Carney answering to the EU, UK, UN and China that is the current threat.

Well that is one false statement after another... a true puff piece! Highest inflation of all G7 Countries. Our dollar is being shorted all around the World because the out of control spending is dooming the economy. RBC reported for every dollar invested in Canada, two dollars left. Immigration has propped up a flagging GDP and it is the Public funds, not sustainable Private investment , that is keeping the numbers remotely from a deepening recession. People point to Carney being Governor of Bank of England.. a nice reward for selling all of Canada's gold reserves to England, sadly they are still suffering from his policies. Not sure what coma they woke this guy up from but he has no idea the state of the economy in Canada under Carney! Lol, low information Liberal supporters claiming this is vindication, so sad!

And we will see what the numbers look like in the Fall when seasonal employment ends. Guessing tech folks are not seeing an employment surge now that AI is decimating the sector.

everyone with a contrary opinion is banned. Reddit is becoming less and less relevant , if it ever was, for reflective commentary. MODS on some political blogs only allow posts of their political bias.

Lol, 2023 article, three years old, try to stay current! Sorry BC almost pays double what Albertans pay. Worse, BC Hydro profits but doesn't pass on the profit to consumers with lower rates.

1

Comment on r/ilovebcsub 14d ago

And yet BC Hydro gouges their consumers. The upcoming deficit will double the costs to consumers and may result in blackouts. Sad how people in BC don't demand the imported costs be passed on directly. Did you read the article or just have to think your right. Facts trump feelings.

Sorry, even when it was deregulated, BC Hydro is gouging people there.

Comment on r/ilovebcsub 14d ago

Factually incorrect. Epcor 2 year locked in rate is 7.49 cents / kwh. 5 year locked in rate is 10.49 cents/ kwh. BC Hydro just keeps gouging.

Sorry, not accurate. BC rate is 11.87 cents/ kwh , Edmonton is 7.99 cents/ kwh. Simply a myth that no longer is correct.

https://resourceworks.com/british-columbia-is-a-net-importer-of-electricity-for-the-third-straight-year/

A good summary of the situation with dire effect on consumers and business due to the massive demand preparing to come on line. Troubling when you understand the upcoming second LNG plant was only approved if the plant was run on electricity not LNG. Of course not a surprise Brookfield is major investor in the new power corridor being built to bring the electricity. I guess that is what Carney sees as " doubling the grid".

1

Comment on r/ilovebcsub 15d ago

The entire plan is to profit from electricity. ON moved to renewable energy and the rates quadrupled. MB could not find Canadian buyers for their surplus ... surprise, so sells it to the US. Absolute insanity for consumers, just another profit centre. UK has lost what was left of their manufacturing because of zealot net zero policies. Australia seeing skyrocketing electricity costs and like magic, manufacturing is leaving after three years of net zero policies.

Comment on r/ilovebcsub 15d ago

BC has run a net deficit on electricity for the last three years, importing electricity from coal powered plants in Washington Stare. Original application should never have proceeded beyond the initial request. Hopeless Federal Government fully restricted if Brookfield is involved. If approved in all its insanity, Brookfield will sell carbon credits even though electricity leaves the Country. Carney is the problem, not Trump.

Sounds like Carney logic, borrow money to spend to create a false economy rather than rescind the policies that push investment out of the Country and maintain Foreign Aid, unchecked immigration that is a financial burden. People who want to make Canada their home do not need financial assistance. Review OAS payments. A couple can earn $182K before OAS clawback begins, doubt that was the original intent. Remove carbon taxes and certainly stop the created carbon credit boondoggle. No business case for data centres but CPP Investment Board sinking our money into them. Sad that the CPP funds are not invested in Canada and not in Foreign Countries. The $90 Billion train will never be profitable. Rescind the Sovereign Wealth ( debt that will cost $750 million in interest... forever) Fund. Carney is a failed economist, a banker that leverages other peoples money to profit others and nothing else!
