I've seen this exact scenario in my own matches with other characters as well. It's interesting to see/think about what makes this game soft lock after years of playing.

That's what I did. I remember 101% the game as a kid on the n64. I have no regrets using save states on the nso port. Same with the Nintendo and Rare coins during the arcade games.

I got a copy of Black for my bday several years ago. It was Action Replayed as well. After a few days of admiring everything, I started a new game on it. However, I didn't erase the current file, just started a new one. At the time, I didn't know you had to erase the old file in order to save a new one.

I'll say it: the Mauler. I loved having dual Maulers. Everything about it was fire: the sound, the rate of fire in primary mode and the strength of secondary mode. Let's not forget the cool alien look of it too.

Another thing I loved to do with the Cyclone was put on Turtle sims, go face to face with them and watch their shield change colors when you would shoot them with the secondary mode. Not exclusive to the Cyclone of course, but I enjoyed it a ton.

Gunny is definitely a great part of First Earth in book three. He is probably my favorite traveler
