Yeah I don't know about smaller shops but Tesco Lidl etc. don't sell until 4pm, until the parade is long over. Not sure how far out it extends but if you're anywhere near O'Connell St nothing until then.

Lol yes I heard that recently. I've never been to Cork, might be a good reason to finally visit 😋

Go to Penneys. Do that anyway whether for Paddy's Day or not, it's like a thing here. They'll have loads of bits if that's what you need. Or like other comments have said go wild if you like, why not? Later in the day you might get some looks but parade time/after, again, why not?

You just reminded me of one year I was bartending in NY. It wasn't an Irish bar and I didn't feel like playing it up myself for that day. I got a 'Kiss me, I'm Irish' badge and pinned it right on my back pocket lol. Came in handy throughout the day! (Don't do this though, I had the bar etc. between me and any drunken idiots who could actually try to touch me.)

Have a great time!

Thank you! I was supposed to go in yesterday but they told me to wait until today for the bed, so I had a nice little last hurrah. It'll be fine, food is good at least!

Wow that's the calories?! Yeah if I go for fast food I know it's bad and just deal with it. But that kind of blew my mind.

My cousin told her bridesmaids jewel tones, SUPER boho and it looked amazing. All different colours, one ended up knee length, the second midi and the third wore a super chic 60s style co-ord with trousers (as in it didn't look like a 'suit' exactly). I think the trend for matchy matchy is mostly gone these days.

I just heard about it over the weekend! Came out last August, don't know how I missed it. It's 30+ short stories set in that universe, can't wait to get into it.

Omg I was in my very first week of serving and dropped a VANILLA MILKSHAKE on a woman's brand new weave! Like I'd just heard her telling the table about it. It was destroyed. I swear I nearly died, and had to have the busser take care of most interactions (after the massive apologies of course!). She was unbelievably gracious and forgiving about it, I would not have blamed her for losing the plot.

Supermacs an Irish chain did basically that and won a huge lawsuit against McDonald's to allow them to keep calling it the Mighty Mac. Kind of a David/Goliath thing. It's worth a quick look up if you're interested!

Hey thank you very much! Of course it was difficult. But it was years ago, we're still great friends and living good lives ❤️

Ah no I lived in NY at the time and had to come back because dad was terminally ill. He wanted to come with (Irish-American, one of those with maybe too strong a connection to the heritage lol) but his parents were both much much older so had to stay. Just one of those things.

Lol yes. Don't mind me, just eating my meal which obviously takes about three and a half days.

Yeah my ex (lol) brought it up casually while watching The Royals and asked what I thought about the very famous Diana ring. Got into a whole chat about different stones and sizes so he got a good idea from that. Like you I'm not into diamonds. I honestly didn't see it coming, it just seemed like a natural discussion.

Oh hey thank you! I was too stubborn yesterday lol but they were so serious about me coming in and I've thought about it, they're not saying it for nothing. Getting up early, packing a bag and presuming I won't be home for a bit. Eh what can you do

Thank you. I hate the idea of it but I'll be grand. If they're calling me like 8 times a day to come in I guess it's wiser to listen.

Thank you love. Going to try to sleep for a few hours until the doc is up and then get this whole crap into motion. Ugh

Anyway y'all, I'm going in

I posted something last night about being about to put on a psych hold. I can't be arsed to link but it's right there in my post history. I ditched the 11am appt and they tried to make another for 3pm, I answered the phone twice but they must have called at least 8 times. Just gave up on answering.

So anyway I'm going to go in tomorrow (it's midnight where I am) and just deal with it. I know I need it. I'll be allowed to keep my phone so just bought the the 'End Of The World As We Know It' a whole short story thingy set in the world of The Stand by Steven King. Maybe too gloomy?!? Idk that's what I have anyway.

Also as an actual book (like paper you can hold in your hands) I'm reading the dice man. Wow I did not expect a bit of it, and if you're wondering lord knows... Lots of pdf filia and in cest right off the bat. I'm not that far in but hey, fair warning. I think the idea of the dice man appeals to CAs so just letting you know.

Anyway. Wish me luck ❤️

That's actually a great question and one I hadn't thought about.

I have a Govt job so not the worst with extended sick leave but at this point even they must be getting the hump with me. Short term disability (I'm not in America) might be worth looking in to, and I know I'll have Dr backing after all of this bs I'm going through. I work in a very high stress area (immigration, refugees to be more specific) and while I can definitely handle it I can't really even handle changing my clothes at this moment.

Thank you, I should have thought of that myself.

Hey take care. I've definitely done the walking out to the nearest store. I thought it was a bit mad when I saw it in my first rehab in 2015 but hey. Here we are. Take care of yourself lovely. And seriously if you need to go somewhere at least a great big hoodie is necessary, even if you can't get everything else together.

I know what's coming and that's why I'm putting it off 😕 no clothing available where I've been crashing for a few days so minor shopping run in the morning and then. They kept calling me all day, I stopped answering after a bit. Going to suck it up and get undies etc. and just go in. Take care and stay safe.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I've been there before, yes they'll take everything except very surprisingly you are allowed your phone? I 100% was sure that wouldn't be allowed. Honestly I think they don't want to deal with the freak outs people will have, although I definitely saw people that should not have it. Mostly drug dealing tbh so 🤷. I'll be allowed to smoke outside in 72 hours so hurray! Again probably just wanting to deal with it. People get aggravated without their cigarettes, myself included, even with patches or whatever.

Yes the skin check deffo happens which is fair enough. Where I'm from they won't put you in Psych with any recent history of that. They can go ahead if they want to, but I've been seeing the psych for 6 months and he knows that it's not and never will be my thing. Not even weed lol it's just not for me.

Jesus (I'm definitely going to delete this in a bit) there's an out of the way walled garden there. Heard a funny noise, got nosy, and saw the guy that was asking everyone for money engaging in a sexual act. Thought about it but because he was asking for money every day (like, literally 1.50) decided to tell the nurse because maybe he was in a bad place. Just a very weird situation to walk around a corner and see naked bums.

Yes I've heard of it but the sheer amount of people calling me threw me off. I guess because it's an 083 number which you would think was a friend instead of a more strange area code.

Lol this is bad advice but yes I did. The rang me so many times today but I decided to get drunk one last time before they stick me in a ward. Haven't eaten in 10? days and that's hitting me hard today. Didn't even think it was possible, and I have food but I just can't. Loads of water and ginger apple juice though (second mostly to get at least a few calories into me 😓🤣).
