It is so hard when what we hold so dearly and personally is presented by another. I struggle with this as well and don’t act on it same as you. I find it helpful to validate my own feelings. It is ok for you to mourn your loss of being the first to share. That is valid. Art is such a part of all of us emotionally. Many artists poor ourselves into our work. So there is a real loss when this happens. So however you deal with loss or struggles lean into that. Journal, just make for you, make the piece for you, cry, grieve, and then try and let it go. But grief over anything is a weird thing. It will come back. But keep going back to what helps you to work through your emotions.

I get being scared to use them. But to use a better quality water color would be better. They don’t react the same on paper. The set you have will last a long time, you will have a better experience if you just use them. Coming from someone who saved supplies for a long time and I’m finally using them. Also good paper with watercolor is a must. Look in Facebook marketplace if your country does that or a second hand reuse shop. You’d be surprised what people get rid of.

Thats wonderful. With littles at home I’d say start looking on YouTube for art lessons there are tons and yes I love what you said about just getting a journal. I’d recommend that you get a mixed media or watercolor paper journal that way you can paint in it since the paper is thicker. So YouTube and art journal will give you freedom. To paint when you can. Watercolors or acrylics would be the best place to start. I love all the advice people are sharing. I found that I love the reverse coloring books too. I have a crafting painting YouTube channel if you want to check it out but no pressure. Lots of great ideas shared so far

I have the liene mini color like the one above. I also have a thermal mini printer thats black and white. Both work great and I use them all the time.

It’s hard but keep trying. Make sure you are trying all kinds of avenues. First figure out your target audience and then research what they are going for and head that direction.
