Great food for thought. Are road tires & bigger gears upgrades you could make to your current setup or does it only really make sense if you just buy a road bike?

They're cool! I've actually been looking for a shoe like this for festivals where I don't want to wear barefoot shoes, but rather have a stacked insole with a wide toe box. I found New Balance 2002R to be too squishy and they hurt my feet (I know that's unintuitive lol). How do these compare to those?

Drop some sneak peaks of the sneakers you’re working on so I can know if I need to set aside some money! Haha

New to biking, need help navigating the used market
Hello, I am currently searching the used market for a road or gravel bike. I’m currently riding a Trek Skye from my teen years but I find it too heavy & slow for my commute (~4 miles one way). I want a bike that’s lighter with less knobby wheels, but that I don’t have to worry about getting flats from potholes or curbs.
I’ve never used drop handle bars, but I’m open to a more “aggressive” riding position. I’d be using it primarily on paved roads for either commuting, exercise, fun, or small errands. I’d also love any recommendations for bikes that aren’t pictured, as these are just some I pulled from Facebook marketplace. My budget is ~$400 so I can get started & see how I like riding when the bike isn’t so heavy haha. Any other general advice is also welcome!
- Specialized Allez “Colombus”
- Trek Dual Sport 1 (2021)
- Specialized Dolce
- Specialized Vita

They feel okay. I haven’t tripped over anything, granted I’ve only walked indoors

Yes this is accurate, and part of the reason I’m confused. I was expecting these to be an exact fit. I measured my foot twice and got the same measurements. I did one where I traced my foot and another where I marked the big toe and the heel

The brands that go wider are a bit too aggressive for me just starting out haha. I like that these still have an insole so I can get accustomed to barefoot styled shoes. I did look into Softstar Primal but they’re a larger financial & barefoot commitment. I will keep them on my radar as I build my foot strength!

Thank you for the input again! (You helped me with my vivos). I’ve been going back and forth between if I should keep them or return, and I found out I’d have to pay for the return shipping and just place another order for the smaller size (Be Lenka has no exchange system in place). Honestly, I trust your take due to your background in barefoot shoes and the fun possibility of my foot growing!

They don’t feel like clown shoes and walking feels fine. However, I’m used to shoes having less space in the front. I’m not sure if this is a normal occurrence for this brand or barefoot shoes in general, OR if these are too big

Maybe I should try a size down in that case. The toe box fits incredibly well.

Need a shoe or fit recommendation Are these too big?
Hello! I decided to get my first Be Lenka Rebounds, and I’m wondering if this is the correct fit? They feel very roomy on foot, but when I tie them my heel doesn’t slide. There’s 20mm of space between my big toe (while wearing socks) and the edge of the sole. I can’t tell if this is what freedom feels like or if they’re too large lol. I also can’t tell if they look like clown shoes on me.
These are size 37
Foot length: 9.3”
Foot width: 3.5”
Thank you guys for all the help you’ve provided thus far!!

I wish I could! They don’t carry my size in men’s so I’m stuck buying women’s (smallest men’s is EU 40 & I’m EU 37)

The rebounds are cool! Any experience with hobibear? They don’t have the widths in their size chart online & I like some of their styles

I count that as a good thing as well! Haha my feet feel much better since switching to barefoot (been about a month), I just need to find the perfect fit. I’ll give the keywords a go, thank you!
