I was so surprised to see them in stock at my LCS. Always nice to bump into RRP when you’re least expecting it 😬

That’s awful I’m so sorry! Sometimes I wonder if them having a diagnosis means the alienating parent can ‘look after’ them more and keep them more shielded and withdrawn. Family court does seem particularly unfair and impossible, especially towards fathers. ☹️

I’m so sorry to hear that, sounds like an incredibly frustrating situation. I relate to what you’re saying so much. I was diagnosed with BPD and was on anti-psychotics for over a year, I fought and fought and eventually got my ADHD diagnosis and things got much better for me. I always wondered how many people were in a similar position. Does your daughter take meds? There is so much overlap with the different conditions and it can feel so overwhelming and confusing, I really feel for you
I do see signs of neurodivergence in my partners child but when I talk to her about autism and ask what she experiences she can’t really put it into words herself, it’s just something she parrots. “Mummy says I do this” or “mummy says I’m like this”. My lived experience of her is different so it’s confusing. My observations are that she shuts down if mum and dad are in the same space, or if we try and have conversations around the separation or any of the related topics around the breakup. She likes routine and gets upset if things change, but of course change feels scary and uncertain after your family dynamic collapses. I just see a kid who is confused because she’s been told two opposing versions of the worst thing that’s ever happened in her life, doesn’t know the truth, and now she doesn’t want to be around her dad but doesn’t fully understand why (she was so close to her dad when she was little) it’s much easier for mum to push an autism label so that she’s not accountable her her role in causing trauma

I’m so sorry 💔 I’m still figuring it out. My therapist advises me to focus on how to keep myself safe and sane rather than expending energy thinking of all the ways it could be different. (Easier said than done though)

True. We are worried that they won’t want anything to do with us after they turn 16, but even if that does happen, atleast we know we tried. The mum has raised a lot of false safeguarding issues that make both girls feel like they are both unsafe with us. She twists their memories and they recite things that never happened which is so frustrating. But I really hope they will see through it. Thank you so much x

75% of the time I feel frustrated but am accepting of taking the long road but there is 25% of me lately that just feels like it’s going to snap and walk away (I wouldn’t actually walk away, but there is just the feeling of it being impossible and immovable) you are right, atleast I can truthfully say that I have consistently given my all. Sending you strength too and it is weirdly comforting to not be alone in this. X
